Please help me with some suggestions for books for boys. I tend to get things that are gender neutral, but my 15 month old son is into typical boys things big time! I would like to get some books on vehicles, construction equipment, and sports (he is in love with anything football related). Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

Richard Scary- Cars and trucks and things that go. Right now we just look at all the vehicles and find goldbug but he loves it.

Any of the "No David" books are great. Trashy Town is about a trash book - but does not come in board books. Also, any of the Little Critter books are great by Mercer Mayer.

My son loved the bright baby (priddy books) "Trucks" - it's one of those photo-with-one-word-per-page books. No sports books recommendations, sorry!

Our favorites are:
Big Red Barn
First Trucks Picture book (Usborn)

I would try the Usborn books, they have a lot on trucks/boy books.

When my son was little, his favorites were the Home Depot ones. He had a board book about hammers and another one about saws. He also had some Bob the Builder ones he loved. They were shaped like tools and fit into this tool box case. There was a hammer one, a screwdriver, a saw, and a wrench. He loved them.

mine adores the Byron Barton books - Trucks, Planes, Boats and Trains. I think Trains is definitely his favorite. he also recently enjoyed "Dinosaur!" by...um...oh, dear, I can't remember! "Baby Touch and Feel Trucks" is good. "Brum" and "Toot" are both good. He just got a pop-up book called Flapadoodle Dinosaur and really likes it.

Bob the builder and DrSuess. " I Love you Forever" we still quote that and my son is 25.

My daughter likes books about trucks and animals. These were some of her favorites:

Fire Truck by Peter Sis (he also has one called Trucks, Trucks, Trucks)
Trashy Town by Andrea Zimmerman
Punk Farm by Jarrett Krosoczka (and Punk Farm on Tour, Bubble Bath Pirates -- anything by this author!)
Go Dogs, Go by P.D. Eastman
anything illustrated by Eric Carle
How Big is a Pig? by Clare Beaton

There is a series of books called "How Do Dinosaurs..." My son LOVES "How do Dinosaurs Eat Their Food."
Read the Thomas books before buying them. Some are good, but sometimes I think the characters are actually very mean to each other (almost bullying) and I choose not to read those to my son. I'm not overly sensitive about this stuff at all, but for some reason, I really notice it with Thomas.

I have a couple of very fun "boy" books available through Discovery Toys. Specifically, I can recommend "Ahoy Pirate Pete," "Match Up Ride and Go" and "The Potty Train." My son loves all three and each is very cute and fun. You can check them out at http://www.discoverytoyslink.com/karenchao
