My cousin will be going to Indiana State next year and playing soccer. She will be living in a dorm. I was trying to think of something cute for her as a graduation gift to tie into school next year. I am told the colors are royal blue and white and the mascot are the Sycamores. I do not know anything about the area she will be in or the school. Any ideas?

Thanks!!

What can I do next?

Cash or Gift Cards.

If she is going to live in a dorm?
Laundry Basket with detergent.. They now have money cards, no more quarters needed for the machines.

I also have put together a first aid kit with aspirin, tums, mint tea (for upset tummy), chamomile tea (for cramps) , bandaides.. etc.

Or a basic tool kit.

Go online and get her a hoodie from the school.
Put it in a laundry basket with some detergent & fabric softener sheets.
Maybe add a beach towel and drawstring bag from the school store as well?

Cash has always been my kid's favorite gifts. Even though we covered most of their expenses they wanted a savings just in case.

Oh yeah, looking at the other answers, my daughter did get a set of monogrammed towels from the teachers. She thought it was really cool because she knew which towels were hers. She graduated two years ago and still has them.

Some of the most thoughtful gifts my kids have received for HS graduation were nice sets of towels...extra long single bed sheets...things for a bathroom (most of my kiddos had a bathroom in their room..shower curtain...bath mats etc all were helpful).

maybe those kinds of things IN the school colors?

Saved ME $$ when the time to take them to college rolled around.

Congrats to your cousin!

A sweatshirt or t-shirt from the college she will be attending. You can probably find something on the schools web site. Look for the bookstore link.
A beach towel is the school colors.
A nice photo frame that she can put a picture from home in.
A "gift certificate" promising homemade cookies mailed to her every month. Sharing goodies from home is a great way to make new friends in the dorm. My roommate and friends couldn't wait for the boxes my mom sent every month!

How is she traveling to school? We hitched a u-haul to the back of our car and drove Las Vegas to Houston, that u-haul filled up pretty quick. So, I'd not give anything bulky. Gift cards to target, Walmart or fast food places are good and take zero space.

I would give her money for the graduation gift.

Then I would get her dorm mailing address in order to mail her a gift
package of things like:
-small sewing kit, power strips, sm flashlight, batteries etc.

Or go online to the school's website & order a sweatshirt for her.
