Good Sunscreen

My daughter (2 1/2) is very fair-skinned and blonde. Yesterday she came home from the sitters with a sunburn on her scalp. I'm sure that her sitter didn't even think about her head. I'm not sure if I should try to force her to wear a hat all the time or if there is a good sunscreen that I can apply to her head (maybe a spray on) but I don't want her hair to be all greasy. Help! It's only April!!

What can I do next?

Hi yikes, I hope I can help. My name is N. and I am a sales Director with M. Kay. We just came out with a new sunscreen and it is amazing. It is not a spray, but if you need a lotion I can help. It has UVA, and UVB protection. It is a new formula that leaves the skin feeling soft and moisturized. It also earned the skin cancer foundation seal of recommendation it is waterproof and sweat resistant, non comedogenic, clinically tested for skin irritancy and allergy, suitable for sensitive skin and dermatologist tested.

We also have a after-sun replenishing gel. You can check it out on my website:

thanks

I don't know about for her head other than a hat but I am in remission from melanoma (I was diagnosed the 1st time at 26yrs old) my doctor has highly recommended Blue Lizard sunscreen it can be bought at CVS it is a little higher in price but a little goes a long ways. I recommend it to everyone especially fair complected people.

I'm with the other gals, a hat is the way to go! Make sure your sitter is relentless in getting her to wear it, too!

Just a side note about sunblocks, Avon has an amazing kids sunscreen that is also a bug repellent. Fabulous stuff and we don't leave home without it!

I can't think of any sunscreen that would not be greasy, although there are several spray-ons with high SPFs available. I'd take her shopping and have her pick out a couple cute hats for her to wear outdoors. She she thinks they're cute and likes them, she's more likely to war them. Call it outdoor dress up or something. My daughter at that age wouldn't leave the house without her hat on because she had to get 'all dressed up' to run errands.

Hello M.,
Redken makes a product called UV Rescue. It is a protective moisturizer for hair and has an SPF 12 sunscreen for the scalp. You should be able to get it at hair salons. My stylist recommended it to me last summer for my daughter, and it works great and isn't greasy. Hope this helps. J.

Hi M.,
There are some good spray on sun blocks out there.. but it sounds as if the hat is the best bet without the greasy feel ... I am "allergic to the sun" and I have find that the only thing that works the best are hats. www.Coolibar.com have hats for all ages that have a UV procetion in the material. Maybe that would help??? Good luck!
