Sometime ago, someone posted needed advice on good quality furniture, and I can not find that post now.
So, sorry, here's the question again with a slightly different spin?
I am in the process of redecorating my master bedroom; so I am looking for that very special bedroom suite of furniture and would like your recommendations of where to shop (me, not being from TX). I am looking for a bit more than the haverty's look I think. I went to Haverty's website and everything there looks brick/mortar and something like everything everyone has in their home.
Can you make some recommendations to me......locations/distance is not an issue.
A friend of a friend suggested Good Fellas? Do you? Would you? Where are they? Is Robb and Stucky worth it? What else is out there? Is it worth it to hire a decorator to take you to the Market downtown and shop for what is there?

Hiring a decorator and going to market or going into the design district is very expensive...unless you're willing to pay $20k+.
If you know the style you're looking for, I'd go to The Dump on 635 (LBJ) between Olympus and Beltline in Irving (on the North side of LBJ). They are only open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and they stock furniture and accessories that all the other stores are liquidating because it's the "end of the season", closing, etc. They advertise that you can get your furniture at up to 80% off retail! So I'd definitely say it's worth a look.
If you're just working on one room and only looking for access to market don't pay a decorator. It's not really worth it as what you see at market is pretty much the same stuff you'll find at other furniture stores. If you do though, you won't have to pay $20k. We didn't pay anywhere near that and we did multiple rooms.
As for furniture stores to visit you'll probably just have to make a weekend of it and visit quite a few till you find just what you want.
