Which type of fabric will work well with having young kids? I currently have some slipcovers on my sofas and they are great, but they are just getting older now. I'd like to replace them. Not sure if I want to go the slipcouver route again. What are some good options? Also, any good furniture store recs? I'm not trying to buy super nice stuff right now since these sofas will be around my kids. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

What can I do next?

Hi,
I HIGHLY recommend micro fiber! I have this for my family room set as well as my set in our finished basement and with kids, its great! All you need is a damp sponge or cloth with water and stains come right out! So does dried on foods. I LOVE my furniture becuase of the fabric. Also, Raymour & Flannaghan has a warranty on their new stuff that you can purchase where if there is ever a stain, rip etc, they come out to clean it or repair or replace it. My daughter drew on my ottaman with pen and I couldnt get it out w/ just water. They came out and got it right out. I think you have to call them first (you cant use any chemicals/cleaners yourself cause I think it will void the contract) but this is what I suggest. Good luck!

Hi! Herculon and Microfiber fabrics are the best for durability and stain resistance . Stay away from Chintz and cotton fabrics. You may want to have them treated with afbric protector, but make sure it doesn't voin manufacturer warranty's!!

I love my leather couches! I regularly wipe them down so I know they are not only clean but look great too. I do keep throw blankets near by however. Leather can be cold in the winter and hot in the summer despite heating/air conditioning but the benefits far out way the draw backs. Even when my kids are grown I know I will always have leather furniture in my family room due to cleanliness. Good Luck!

Our couch is awesome! We have 3 kids, 9, 3, and 1. It has survived vomit, potty training accidents, milk spills, you name it. We got it at Boscov's. it's one of those microfiber sectionals that you see advertised all of the time in their circulars. it comes with the otoman (sp?) and was something like 1,100. When something spills on it a warm washcloth usually does the trick. Although I did have to use my steam vac for the potty training!! Good luck!

Hi A.,

I have a brown leather furniture set and it works great with kids and dogs! I have the leather furniture wipes, everything wipes right off. I warm up the couch and love seat with colorfull and playful pillows ans it is very comfortable and durable.

Good luck, L.

We recently bought a chocolate brown leather sofa and it is fantastic! The only thing you really have to worry about is punctures, which to me, are easier to guard against than spills!
