So I am hosting my first baby shower for my bff next month. I need some help on what should the gift prizes be. We have this really cute ducky baby shower punch that I found on this site.

Can you please help me spring up some really neat ideas on things you enjoyed doing at a babyshower?
Thanks!

What can I do next?

We have never done any sort of prize to go along with the theme (usually because it wouldn't be anything anyone would want!). My favorite gifts are jewelry (from Kohls on sale!), gift cards, and stationary (because I am the weirdo that still likes to write notes to people). I hope this helps!

we did one at my shower where you had to match baby anaimalnames with the adult names, it was a hit. for example goat- baby name is kid, horse baby is a foal, try to find hard ones to. Most people cant remember thereal names to most.

check with the mfg of those ducks before you put them in something you're going to drink! Not all plastic or rubber is food-grade safe! My mom worked in customer service for a major food mfg & we've learned a lot thru the years........

I love party games....so I enjoy the dorky traditional ones & the fun new ones. BUT, I also enjoy the Words of Wisdom scrapbooks created by having each guest share her own hard-earned advice. These shared moments are then mounted in a small-sized notebook for the mom-to-be. It's always fun to read them aloud & have the guests try to guess who wrote them!!

Go to the dollar store for prizes. I just helped with a friends shower and I was in charge of games and prizes. I put together gift bags with lotions and body wash, bath stuff and tea light candles holders with the tea light scented candles. Big lots has bath stuff too.

For games I did the rice in a bowl and got those small gold safety pins. Blind folded the guest has 1 minute to try and feel for the pins and take them out an place them on a plate with out taking out too much rice. NO hand full grabbing.

Another game I got those small play dough containers and small paper plates. Also found both at the dollar tree store. Guest have 1 1/2 minutes to make a baby out of the dough. Mommy to be picks the best looking baby. Guest first put their names under the plates where mommy can't see.

Another was Read Mommys Mind. Put a word down related to baby things of course. Have mom write down the first word that comes to mind after the printed word. Guest have about 1 1/2 minutes to try and figure what mommy put down. Person with the most correct answers win.

You can do unscramble the words again all related to baby things. If baby already has a name, scramble baby's first and last name at the end.

There is the memory game. Put on a tray baby items and walk around guest then put tray away. Guest have a minute or so to list as many items they can remember seeing on the tray. All items go to the mom for baby afterwards.

We did a raffle. Anyone who brings in extra diapers ( of various sizes because we dont want to get all the same size ) or wipes or both gets put
into a drawing. This prize would be a little bigger than the others. We did a chilis gift card.

The price is right. Get some baby items and lay them out. Guest have 1 1/2 min. To write down the price of those items. Add up the totals and the person closest to your total for the items with out going over wins.

Hope this helps. And good luck!

I have another really fun game. The guest get in a circle with a small ball, two balls if the party is more than ten people. you read a story that will read the words left and right. As you read the guest have to listen and pass the ball to the left or right person with the ball in hand at the end of the story wins. There will be two winners if you play with two balls. Send me an email if you want this. I can scan it and send it to you. It's kind of long but really fun.

I have gone to 2 showers lately, one where there was a nice 3 wick candle from Bath & Body Works (they go on sale 2 for $20) and the other time it was a lotion, anti-bac soap and a hand sanitizer. No games, just the gift at the place setting. These are things I typically buy for our home, so it was nice to get a freebie. If you sign up for their e-mail alerts you get coupons daily. It would be cool to get a handful of $5 Target or Coffee shop gift cards too. What gal can't use that?

Well Bath and Body works is having there semiannual sale starting today. That is a good place to get gifts like lotions and soaps. The most memorable game I played at one baby shower was they melted different types of chocolate in the middle of the diaper. Then the participants have to sniff it and write down what type of candy bars are in each diaper. So you can get some funny pictures when people are doing this. So put snickers in one almond joy in another and reese's peanut butter cup, etc. You can get the smallest sized diapers and give the leftovers to the mom to be.
