Gift Ideas for 13 Y/o Boy with Asberger's

My son will be 13 on the 28th of this month. He has Asberger's and a very limited field of interest (ex. video games, especially related to sports). I do not want to get him any video games, and he has just about every piece of outdoor sports equipment that he enjoys. I have no idea what to get him for his birthday, and he has admitted that he doesn't know, either. Any suggestions from other moms of a "special" child would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Mommas!

All things science is my go to gift. I couldn't sell my science books after I used them for school because he enjoyed reading them so much.

I guess just think about what subjects he loves in school and create an idea from that.

Rather than buying him "something", but him an "experience". I see you live in St. Louis, so why not tickets to a Cardinal's game or a Rams game or buy advance tickes for a Blues game? He's old enough that opening an envelop with tickets to a game and a voucher for lunch at his favorite restaurant would be exciting and something he will remember long after the videogames have come-and-gone.

Sorry, but I have to do this. It's "Aspergers" not "Asbergers".

Honestly D. I don't think any 13 year old boy is easy to buy for...... I liked the idea of a sporting event. Is there a video arcade near your home? Maybe go there for his birthday. If sports is his thing does he probably has a favorite team. Usually a Jersey is a big hit.

My aspie will be 13 on the 18th! :-)
Aside from video games and sports equipment (also big for him), he's a fan of books about his favorite sports/teams/players. His father is taking him to a game for his present. Framed posters tend to be a hit, too. And, while it's not as fun, my soon-to-be-minted teen has no objections to cash!

Does he have an Ipod? If so, get him an itunes giftcard so he can choose some music. You could get him an amazon.com giftcard or a magazine subscription.

get him an itunes gift card - he can download music videos or music for his ipod or mp3 player.

Or tickets to a live game perhaps? If he can handle the noise and the crowd, that is.

He could start up his own collection? Bobble heads of his team players/trading cards or even biographies. A book for collecting Autographs? Barns and Noble Gift card?

A digital camera so he can start a new hobby?

What about sports "trading" cards... that he can collect. And a binder for storing the cards in?
These binders have special plastic sheet protectors that are the size of each card.

Remember a gift doesn't have to be a thing but it can be something you do. What about going to a ballgame?

All these answers are great... but one more here, What about collecting money or canned goods for a food pantry. With the money maybe purchase some sports balls or equipment for kids in a shelter that do not have these things or that they need more of. This way he helps someone else enjoy what he has.
