Hi Bobbie,

Have you ever tried Arbonne's baby line. It is AMAZING! My girlfriend sent me the baby products as a shower gift for my baby shower and I loved them. (she also sent me something for stretch marks....I don't have any!) They are herb and botanically based and do not have any harmful ingredients. And totaly safe for the baby. I'll never stop using them. Now I give them as gifts to my friends. If you don't know the sex of the baby, you can put them with blankets, hooded bath towels or anything that doesn't set the gender. She will be thankful that you thought about her babies health and wellness. Babies are a precious gift! If you're interested feel free to email me. Good Luck

I always appreciated the most useful gifts! Get her a package diapers & wipes. Put it in a basket & 'pretty it up'! :)

The one thing that I have for my daughter that has *saved my life* is my baby sling. This thing is AWESOME - she cries less, and I can get things done without having to lay her down. I got mine at www.mammasmilk.com, but you can find them all over the place.

Since you do not know her, and she isonly a coworker. A gift
card. Babies R us...Target, Walmart...will work. Otherwise
your hubby needs to be more specific.
And if just thinking of her...get her something to pamper
herself...A gift card for getting her nails done, or her hair
done.

I personally appreciated GIFT CARDS!!! Especially since you don't know this lady at all. It is more a less a wonderful gesture along with a congratulatory card. That way she can choose what she needs now, or she can save it for later for the diapers, wipes, etc...

Bobbie,

I have a gift basket for new moms (boy or girl) that contains a miracle blanket, knot a bag, The happiest baby on the block dvd and a white noise cd that comes gift wrapped. It is helpful without being too personal. If you are interested look at www.thenestingplace.biz and email me for other suggestions if you like.

Baby bath items are great. Lotion, soap, rubber ducky and maybe another bath toy.

Bobbie - my favorite gift that was baby but really for me, was a stylish diaper bag. It's SUPER functional but because it was so beautiful, I got compliments all the time. I think the giver found it at Nordstroms. Good luck!

Is he getting a gift because she's pregnant? If so, purchasing something for the baby is not impersonal. Also, how personal should a work gift be anyway...

I think most pregnant women love getting stuff for their babies. Since you have had one recently, what is something that you couldn't live without? Get her one of those things and write a note from you about how it made a big difference for your little one to have it. That makes it more 'personal'.

GC's are impersonal, but I can't say that I don't love getting them. I'm really hard to buy for...

Good luck with your decision!

Jodi

Speaking from my own experience, and of that of many new moms, a Target gift card was very, very much appreciated. And, they come in some really cute styles for different holidays, occasions, etc. You could include the card with a cute little gift basket of spa stuff for mommy (mommies need tending, too!)

For baby showers I always buy my friends a gift certificate for merrymaids!

They love it!
That way when they are nesting and want everything perfect or when they get home with baby and are exhausted they can use the gift certificate!

I know I would have loved one when I had my girls!

well, if you don't know her but want to do something for the family... why not buy some gift cards to a couple of restaurants near where they live so that once the baby comes, she won't have to worry about meals a couple of nights... that's something any couple would enjoy! ;)

Have your hubby see if she is registered anywhere and buy something from there. Easy! If not, how about a session at a Portrait Studio for the new family. Studio 1 to 1 in Grapevine (Mills mall) is awesome. I also like the meal gift card idea. One of my lifesavers was the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium. My daughter absolutely LOVED that thing in her crib. She used to turn it on with her piggies....funniest thing!

I think it's totally appropriate for a pregnant woman to recieve a baby item, that's why they have baby showers, it's typically expected to recieve a gift for the baby! Check out this site, they can make them for baby's or also make one more for mom's (like with spa items) They are gorgeous!!

You could give her a diaper cake. I custom make them starting at $35.00. I have pictures if you would like to see them.
