Gift for My Husband

Hello Mamas!

I delivered our 3rd girl on July 4th. I've given necklaces to the girls... hearts that open up and hold charms. Each necklace has bedazzled letters for the first letter of each of their and their sister's names as well as their own birthstone. I got one for myself too. My wonderful husband sent me flowers last week. He's been off work for 2 weeks now and has been a huge help with the older girls, cleaning dishes, running to the store, fixing meals, etc. I want to get something for him too. Something special that he can keep instead of a gift basket or food items that don't last. Some sort of jewelry maybe?

Do you all have any ideas?

BTW, I polled mamasource readers a few months ago because we couldn't decide on a name. You all helped us make a final decision and we've named her Delilah Belle (Lila Belle). I love having another tiny in the house... it's so beautiful!

Thanks for all your help!
A.

What about a money clip with an engraving and or stones that represent you and his daughters? Does he have any interests try to fit a gift in with that maybe.

A professional photograph of you surounded with the chilren for his office. I saw one in a studio where the mother and children were in a white dresses, it was close enough where you didint see the moms feet but the children were barefoot, it was a white background and the edges were faded out, it was angelic!

or have the girls put together an "all about my daddy" scrapbook of pictures of daddy with them.

A men's ring, with their names engraved on the inside of the band...

He gave you flowers when your daughter was born. How about giving him a flower like one that he gave to you. It would last for generations and each time he looked at it he would think of his new little one and you. I am in Santa Rosa and have a flower preservation business. I carry christmas tree ornaments that have a preserved flower inside. (Among many other items) You can see examples at www.suspendedintimesantarosa.com
The Christmas Tree ornaments are $40.00. They come with a display stand, so you don't just have to use them at christmas.
You could also put the flowers in a frame along with a picture of your new little girl. I did this when my new grandaughter was born.

Hi A.,

I have two gift ideas that worked well for my husband (who wears only a watch and his wedding ring), so maybe they will work for your husband too. First, a money clip that can be engraved. There are a lot of nice ones at jewelry stores, ranging greatly in price and quality. Second, a business card holder that can be engraved on the inside or outside. Good luck!

Guys usually aren't too big on jewelry...
A watch with the kids names engraved on the back would be nice and useful.
Have his car detailed - my hubby got all misty when I did that for him... ;) Boys!
OR - perhaps something that will put a goofy grin on his face for days...you'll need some lingere and a baby sitter...make him a list of all the things you'll do to him when you're all healed...be creative.
(this also works if you total his car or put too much on the credit cards)
Have fun!

Congradulations !!! My name is G. and I have 3 of my own. I started a jewelery business after the birth of my daughter . The idea of my charms is that they have names of the kids on the back so you can keep them close to your heart. A few men complained that the charms are for women and they want something special too. So I designed a few ideas for men. You can say ANYTHING you want and I will stamp it on a charm for you, you can even dedicate a song.
If you want to brainstorm, give me a call. You can see my stuff on my web site. Namicharms. Good Luck.

i really like preserving their little hands. what i did recently for my sons' dad was put a pic of them together in a larger mat frame & put their painted hand prints all around the picture. so it was a 5x7 pic in an 11x14 mat/frame. just take a foam paint brush to their hands and let them press all over. i did one kid at a time & used different boy colored paints & just spread them out all over the frame. did one for my mom too & she really loved it. For jewelry check out planetjill.com they have beautiful keep sakes with your fave pics & they can do anything! i have a beautiful necklace of my first son from them

When our first son was born I gave my husband a framed poem from our son and we later added a picture of the two of them that we had professionally taken. I had the poem printed out on the mat but you could handwrite on the mat and the poem was one that I found on the internet titled "Come out and play". It was a son talking about what he would do with daddy when he got older. My husband was very touched and we proudly hang it in our hall.

Hi A.,

I don't know if your husband has to wear dress shirts much, but this website:

http://www.cuffart.com/
http://www.cuffart.com/vintage_stamp_braille_cufflinks.htm

has a lovely set of vintage cufflinks that you can have the girls names engraved on. I got my husband a pair off the site for Father's Day (unfortunately these weren't available then or I would have got them with our kids names- probably will order anyway).

The quality of the ones I did buy is excellent and they arrrive in a very nice gift box.

Congratulations. :)

I actually think jewelry would be good - like an ID bracelet with the girls' names on it. I actually got my husband a gold band for a father's day gift from our daughter & he wears it on his left pinky next to his wedding band. Since you have three girls, maybe a single simple band with their initials if you don't want to get a band for each girl ;)
However, if he enjoys doing something (a sport or something) get him something related to his special activity (like new golf balls or a book about something he enjoys, or a kitchen gadget if he likes to cook, etc.)
Good luck - I am sure whatever you choose, he will love!

Hi A.,

How about a bracelet with all the names of your children inside of it along with your name telling him how much you all love him.

I also have wellness jewelry that men love if that interest you.

Have a great day.

What about a bracelet? You could get him one of those magnetic ones that men use for golfing. On the inside you could get all of the girl's initials engraved on it, or his. Things Remembered has some nice men's items.

Hi A.,
One of the best gifts I can think of that my husband loves is going and having your pictures taken, just you and the girls. Pick your favorite pose or a couple of them and frame them and give them to him to take work. Most husbands I know who love their families love to show them off, and professional pictures surrounding him at work are a wonderful way to do that. He will be able to look up and see his beautiful family every day. I did that for my husband, and ever since then, as the pictures get older, he will tell me "I need some new pictures for work". He's very proud to be a daddy with 4 beautiful girls and a wife who loves him, and he loves showing us off!
