Hi Moms! I have a birthday party to go to this Saturday for a 1 year old boy. What do you think would be a good gift for him? What do your one year olds love? Any ideas are appreciated.
My son loves his blocks, he carries them around everywhere, and plays with them often.
He also loves anything with sound, or lights, those types of things go over very well with one year olds.
Find out if he likes any certain shows on tv, like my son just loves Sesame Street with Elmo. He plays with his Elmo chatters doll so much and the See and Play toys are great.

My friend's son loved (so did my daughter) the ride on toys that convert to walkers too... not sure if they have one lol. Those big block legos are always fun for them too. I agree with the other mom, board books are always good. My daughter still loves board books. You can look walmart.com and they organize toys by age and see what is age rated for 1. Almost any of it he would love.
I always loved to give (and receive) books. Get something sturdy, a picture book or book with sounds.
My DD is 16 months and I think we would all be lost without her board books. She must have close to 100 of them now and her library grows all the time. She loves Loves LOVES her books and I couldnt be happier with her love of books.

NO doubt. the Ball Popper. That is the best gift ever. Seriously I had never heard of it and my daughter got one- it entertained her FOREVER. They are only $20 and so worth it. I have bought several for friends kids and the parents & kids just LOVE that gift. Who knew?
My daughter just turned one and her favorite gifts were the little people bus and a shape sorter...it's a bucket with shapes inside and you put the lid on and have to get the right shape in the right hole. The ball popper sounds fun too...maybe she needs that :)
I just had to answer to further reinforce some of the answers below. Hands down the ball popper was the best gift we received. My daughter loved it and so did my older son who was 4. It really entertained them for quite a while. Also the little people bus was an absolute favorite and both kids enjoyed hours of fun with it.

You could always ask the mom for suggestions, maybe there's some things she has in mind anyway that could give you ideas.
The Ball Bopper (or Popper). It's a short upright tube thing that blows balls into the air, catches them, and rolls them down a spiral back into the main chamber where the fan is - then blows them up into the air, etc. With music! Way cool.

My baby just turned one, and one of the best gifts we received was an eeBoo growth chart. You can find them on Amazon. It's won a lot of toy awards, and I can see why. It's adorable, very sturdy, and stores in a keepsake box. I think it's particularly a great gift for a one-year-old because that's when you start tracking their height.
Get a couple of board books and a savings bond. at 1 they don't need buku toys cluttering up the house and or buku clothing. the savings bond will acrue interest and be worth twice what you pay for it.
I always buy 1 year old a Snack trap and a box of organic crackers.
