Getting Tough Stain Out of Shirts

This is kinda odd, but where I work I have to wear scrub tops. I do a lot of running around which leads to sweating. My shirts have now stiff arpits....what can I do to get rid of these? Most of my shirts are only 1 to 2 years old and still in good condition other than the stains. They are different colors as well....any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What can I do next?

I used to have this issue too and never found a solution once the stains were there. Underarm stains are crystalized and set permanently. One thing I did find is that I didn't have this problem after I stopped oral birth control!
That may not be an option (if that's your situation), but if you start with new shirts, you might be able to keep ahead of the stains with white vinegar. Good luck.

Oxy Clean or Borax one or the other usually does the job for us!

Hi L.,
I don't understand why this wouldn't come out in the normal weekly laundry but my mom swears by Dawn Dish Liquid for all tough stains. It seems to work well but I don't think it will damage your colors. May be worth a try. Good luck.

I use to have a hard time getting stains out of shirts until I found Melaleuca. Their Prespot has really helped me. Our water has iron in it bad and not every stain remover works. This stuff is amazing. I can help you get it if you are interested.

I always use two stain removers and sometimes I use them together. Zout and Spray 'n Wash with Resolve. I have never had a problem using them with colors. I only use one at a time, then if I still can't get the stain out I try them together. Good Luck.

Oxyclean Spray in the blue bottle.....works great, even after you've washed/dryed the clothes and didn't notice the stain.

Have you tried pouring a part of a can of coke on it right before washing and in the load that it is in? I got this tip from a guy in the military who used it on his whites and all his other laundry. Not only where the whites bright and clear of stains (stained beyoned belief beforehand) and rest of loads fully clean without stains (with greese, oil, etc. beforehand stained). He told me it is the acid in the coke that cleans them. It makes me think if a can of coke can clean rusty nails and brighten/clean laundry better than bleach, then what does it do to the insides of our bodies when we injest it. Kind of a scary thought, but still does not stop all of us from drinking it. Hope this helps..

My mother-in-law who knows every trick in the book has tried everything to get this kind of stain out of my husband's shirts. She has had no success. I suggest you restock and wear a t shirt under your scrub top.

Hi L.~
The company I work from home with has a non-toxic 3-in-1 cleaner that is great for deodorizing, removing stains, and as a cleaning booster. As others have mentioned, that particular type of stain is difficult/impossible to remove. I would let this cleaner set in for an hour or overnight, then wash. I hope you figure this out!

Shaklee's laundry products are great. They keep my children's clothes very nice and they get pretty bad. They are also non toxic and super concentrated and last a long time. In addition to the laundry liquid that you can also use concentrated as a stain remover they also make a laundry booster (like oxiclean) called nature bright. If you'd like to read about them you can go to my website at www.shaklee.net/dudinyak. I soak my whites that are bad in the nature bright and laundry detergent right in the washer and then just run it through the cycle.
