Getting Out Grease Stains & Dark Spots in Clothing?!

Hello,
I have a question regarding laundering stuff that looks like oil/grease stains on our clothing. I have tried everything! First off, I don't think it is grease, because my daughters clothing gets it, too, and she's not around greasy food. Also, it is on her church dresses, which she takes off right when she gets home. They only serve graham crackers. Whenever I pull shirts out of the dryer, there are tons of quarter and dime shaped dark marks on our clothing. I have tried Shout, vinegar, dish soap, changed detergents, not used fabric softener...I don't know what else to do. After I rub the clothes together on the spot with either detergent, dish soap, shout or vinegar, it comes out the exact same size as before I worked on it. No difference, at all! Please help! Thank you.

Sometimes I find these "grease stains" on our clothes too. It's really bizarre. My husband had a brand new t-shirt that he only wore once or twice and when I pulled it out of the dryer, those stains were everywhere. He's not a sloppy person so I have no idea how they got there. Several years ago my dad turned me on to this product called Carbona. It is small yellow bottles of stain remover. They have a different bottle for different stains. I've used the grease/oil bottle and have successfully gotten these grease stains out of our clothes. You can't find Carbona everywhere though. We have several Walmart's in our area, some carry it in the laundry aisle, some do not. I think you can also buy it at JoAnn's Fabrics. I swear by Carbona now. I have many bottles for all types of stains in my laundry room.

Here's a website so you know what they look like.

Fels Naptha laundry bar. You can find it in the laundry aisle. Wet the fabric and rub the stain with the bar until some soap is worked in. Wash as usual.

I'd also suggest cleaning your washer. Pour in a small bottle of vinegar and a 1/4C of Borax. Run an empty hot wash cycle with an extra rinse.

Dry cleaning is the only reliable solution I have found.

I use a dime sized amount of Dawn and scrub with a toothbrush, rinse with hot water, repeat if necessary..When you see the stain is gone, launder as usual. Works like a charm.

When it happens to our good clothes and I have no idea why it happens, I just resort to my dry cleaner and they take care of it.

On simple items that are not really worth the dry cleaning expense, I have used Dawn dishwashing liquid (very sparingly because I have HE machine) and it has worked.

Good luck
