What is the best way to get some relief from the house without spending money, I'm always broke!! I have four boys and one bored daughter and can't stand the cold! Thanks for any ideas! L.

What can I do next?

Im not sure of the age of your children, but when my husband was out of town, I took my kids(4,6,9 at the time) to the Jelly Belly factory. They give free tours and samples. Plus we went after Valentines Day and the holiday jelly beans were half off.

Do you mean getting out alone or with the kids??

Alone, Barnes and Noble is nice. Sit there, read, have some coffee. I personally go to a movie once a month or so all by myself and it is a great escape.

With the kids...Racine Gymnastics (on Golf Ave) as open tot gym Monday and Fridays 10am-noon. And I think they have open gym for bigger kids at different times. Its great!! The kids run wild and have tons of fun - gets out a lot of energy.

The library also have different events like story time and such. Never tried that one yet tho.

Sometimes I will take my 2 year old and just walk around the mall. Then at the end of the trip she gets to go on a couple of the rides by JcPenneys.

Take advantage of the warm days so you don't get cabin fever so easily- if it's 40-50 degrees out, bundle up and get the kids out for a short walk or to the park. Take along some hot chocolate or coffee to keep warm, and if you keep moving, it's not so bad. Even if it's 30 minutes, the fresh air will help them burn off a ton of energy and keep their spirits up, and the exercise will do everyone good.

The library is always a good option if you want to be indoors, or look for activities offered through your church. Good luck!

I don't know how old your children are but maybe to like a Petland or something. We took my daughters and 2 of my girlfriends kids and spent about an hour there looking at the fish, puppies, you can hold the bunnies, and guinea pigs of course my daughter was lets take that puppy home she didn't quite understand that they are like 600 dollars but I enjoyed it and so did they. I also have a membership at the YMCA which I pay only 10 a month for the whole family because they waived the most part of it because of my families income so it is nice I go work out (which I have been slacking) and the girls go to the daycare there free for at the most 2 hours so they get to play and I get a break and get to work out. I am not sure how old the kids are this stuff might be boring for them. Good luck
