Hi, We are considering a vacation to Disneyworld this summer. We would not rent a car but we would like to go to Universal Studios while we are there, is there any kind of shuttle to the competitors park?

Thanks,

M.

If you are staying on Disney property you will probably need to take a taxi, you can call guest services and ask them. Most hotels outside of the parks offer shuttles to all the parks, Disney, SeaWorld, Universal and Legoland.

We were just there last month and stayed at a Disney Resort. The only transportation between Disney and Universal is through third-party vendors.

Taxis are expensive. City buses are cheapest, but will add about 2 hours to your travel time each way due to waiting and transfers. There is a public shuttle test is $18/adult round trip, less for kids, that your concierge can give you contact info for.

We chose to go with private transportation, since we had 3 small kids, 4 adults, the big double stroller, and the small umbrella stroller, plus bags. We used Mears Transportation and got a private, luxury van that picked us up at our chosen time from the front of our hotel, had a driver that loaded and unloaded our stuff for us, provided a booster and a car seat (we brought our infant's carrier car seat), picked us up at Universal at our chosen time (we ended up 30 minutes late due to an unexpected downpour without a problem or fee), and even refunded some of our money when we decided to be dropped off at Downtown Disney instead of our hotel. All in-$104 round trip for everyone.

Call Disney direct. They have an info number.

Info might be on allears.net.

We just got back from Disney today--I agree with Missy. Having a private luxury shuttle is AMAZING! We had one bring us from the airport to our hotel. We did end up renting a car eventually because we weren't very impressed by our hotel's food options, but otherwise we would have taken the private shuttle back to the airport too.

The shuttle we used was Mears and it was comfy, pleasant, quick, convenient, and they provided 4 carseats for us.

Your hotel should be able to tell you what transportation options you have from your hotel.

Are you staying on Disney property or at a nearby hotel? When we stayed at a nearby hotel, the concierge helped us arrange a shuttle to Universal. I don't know if they do that from Disney. Call your hotel and ask.

When we vacation in Orlando we don't stay on Disney Property but stay at a hotel on International Drive. I check to see if the hotel has shuttle service to Disney and to Universal Studios, we also get the added benefit of being able to walk to local restaurants, stores, theaters, and other activities.

Have fun.

There are buses that will take you. We went last year and all we had to do was set it up with the Concierge at our Hotel on Disney World Property.

We were just in Orlando. A cab would probably be your best bet.
