I'm looking for a good place to take my 15 month old to get his first hair cut. I want it to be a good experience. Please let me know if you know a really nice pro who's good with kids, and of course, tell me how much will he/she charge.

I was at this place on westheimer called baby cuts and we had to leave because that awfull woman made all kids cry. It was terrible....

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for the advice. Finally, my husband ended up being baby's first hair stylist. His hair looks a bit funny but still ok. Most important, I'm sure they both had fun. We placed his high chair in front of the TV and played his favorite video, gave him his favorite toys too.
I'll try one of these places next time, I do hope I can get a coupon somewhere...

Kids Kuts on Kirby is great!
The children can sit on a frog or a horse and watch movies....we love Ruth and Irma. They will take a photo and give you a little certificate for a first haircut :)
They charge around $18.00.

Well, we're in Sugar Land, but there is a place right on 59 and Hwy 6 by the Whole Foods called Snipits that is great. Ask for Bertha...she's pretty good. There is also a place called Cool Cuts for Kids on Hwy 6 in Sugar Land, but I actually like Snipits better now (it's fairly new). This may be too far for you to go, but maybe you could Google it and see if there is a location that is closer to you. Good luck and don't forget to bring your camera!

So sorry if this is a repeat, but I take my little guy to cool cuts for kids. I don't know if there is one near you but you can just check the net. They have a play area the kids can go in while you wait and then they get to sit in a cool looking car or plane and watch a movie while they get the cut. Of course mine still cried the first time, but now at 20 months he does good and I have found them to be very kind and patient. They are a little expensive I guess, I pay around $20 after the tip, but I think it is worth because it is so kid friendly. Best wishes, I know haircuts can be traumatic!!:)

A., I dont know if there is a snip its near you, but I have copied the site for you below and see if they have one near you. We go to the one in Sugar Land and they are AWESOME. They are a little more expensive, but if you can get a coupon, they are about the same as anywhere else. They also have a first haircut deal where they cut the babies hair and take pictures for you. It is really sweet. Also, they make such a big deal about it. They also have this machine that the kids get to put some of their hair that has been cut off into this machine and it spits out a prize. My boys really enjoy going there and they do a really good job. They also can watch movies, cartoons or play computer games while they get their hair cut. I hope you check this site out.

I take my son to Little Lords and Ladies on Westheimer. Judy cuts his hair and I'm very happy with her. We have tried another place and it wasn't as good. It is a bit pricey though....$19. But my son likes it and plays with the car he sits in. She is very nice and gives a really good haircut. Good luck!

There is a place in Sugar Land, don't know if it is convenient, but sure worth the drive! It is called Snip its, next to Whole Foods off of Hwy 6 and 59, it is totally geared for kids, fun characters, bright colors, t.v.s with cartoons, when they are done, they take your child's hair and let them put it into this machine that makes this noise like it is turning it into something...! and then out pops a prize! Only costs about $17! We loved it!

Good luck!

Little Lords and Ladies is the best. It is a cute children's boutique and in the back is a salon.

I took my daughter their to get her first haircut not only b/c my friends take their kids their but I got my haircut their until I went to college.

The ladies who cut hair also own the store.

It is located across the street from the ToysRUs and BabiesRUs at Westheimer and Greenridge. It is in the same shopping strip as SunNSki.

I just had my son's hair cut for the first time last week. It was a wonderful experience. I used Christina Page at Highland Salon. She has 2 little boys of her own, so she know kids! The number to the Salon is ###-###-####. It is in K.. I'm sure you won't be disappointed with Christina!
