HI moms. My husband and I are looking for a new dentist and we would also like to get our 16 month old in to see a dentist for the first time. We had been going to a dentist for some time but he really crossed the line recently. As I was waiting in the dental chair, I had told him that I had another appointment later that day and he asked with what doctor. When I told him the doctor's name he said, "Oh, I know him. I can't stand his fat, ugly receptionist. I just want to punch her in the face when I see her"!!!! I was speechless and obviously can not go back to him. We now don't have a dentist so I was hoping for recommendations from those that are happy with not only their dentist but the office, the staff etc. And......a dentist that sees children and are good with children. Do most dentists see adults and children or do we have to find one dentist for my husband and myself and another for our son? We live in the Beverly area but are happy to travel a little ways considering we mainly only go twice a year. Any help you can provide would be wonderful. Thanks!

How awful! Some people should not be able to serve the public.
Our dentist is wonderful. Dr. Gary Tapak. ###-###-####. 4647 W. 103rd st.
Oak Lawn. You NEVER have to wait, he and his staff are very nice, and he doesn't
over charge your insurance like others do. My kids go to Dr. Ned Savide, 12001 S. Harlem
Palos Heights. ###-###-####. We go to a pediatric dentist because he is wonderful
with kids!!! And his office is Nemo themed!!! Good luck!

Hi N.,

I'm a dental hygienist in the south suburban area. I don't know of any dentists in the Beverly area, but one that I recommend is in Palos Heights. I'm not too familiar with Beverly, so I don't know how far of a drive it would be for you. Anyway, his name is Phil Collins and the office # is ###-###-####. He does see children, but so will most offices. You can go to a ped's dentist if you want, they generally have more 'kid-friendly' equipment, but if you don't care that the gloves aren't flavored, then a general dentist should be fine.

Also the office I'm at right now is great (if I do say so myself!) ;-) We are in Oak Forest. The name is "Perfect Smiles" and we are a all women's office. You can check us out on our website, www.allperfectsmiles.com

Hope that helps. If both places are too far for you, I would keep working on getting the personal recommendations. I hate knowing that people come to my office just because their insurance listed us!

:-)

Hi N., my dentist in just a little west of Beverly but he is worth the drive. I have been with him for over 16 years and he has been nothing but the best. When I had my son and when he turned 3years old, which is the time they recommend bring your children in for dental care, he was gentle and very comforting to him. My son sat thru the appointemnt and he has been treating him now for the past for years without andy problems. His name is Dr. Forrest Tower (708/423-0610) His office is on 107th & Cicero in the little strip mall. He has the sweetest staff and they are very helpful. Tell them Carrie sent you.

I go to Dr. Ken Zlotkowski who practices on 115th just west of Kedzie. He is very good and his staff has always been professional and helpful. I don't think he sees kids as young as yours, but does service children. I think he might start when they are 3 or 4 years old.
