When my friend Crystal had her baby shower, they played this game where everyone got 5 saftey pins pinned to them. No one was allowed to say words like "baby", "pacifier" or "bottles"(I think you can change the words if you want). You could only say the baby's name (Which was Charlee) or a medical term like "Fetus". If you said one of them you'd lose a pin. At the end of the party/game, the person(s) with the most pins left on her shirt got a small basket filled with lotions, candles, body sprays and all types of things. The only problem with this that I copuld think is if more than one person had the same amount of pins. Hope you have fun!!

Hey Y.,

For my baby shower a couple months ago my sisters and mother in laws organized the fun games....poopy diapers- where you crush up different chocolate candies in several diapers and people have to guess what candy it is. Guess the pacifiers- mini pacifier candies in a sippie cup and people guess how many. Mommy & Daddy as babies- People answer the questions of about the Mommy and Daddy when they were little, eg. age when said first word, what that word was, how old when potty trained, birthdate, bith weight, middle name etc. They also put together a little book where guests could write advice for mommy and daddy, but I know this great site that you should definately check out, www.guestbookstore.com where you can order a fun guest book that people fill in with wishes for baby, they can draw pics of the mommy, guess baby's weight, hair and eye color, and lots of other fun things to keep them busy, and the pages get stored in a nice hardcover memory book. Hope these help a little! N.

I'm having a baby shower for one of my good friends next week. Go to www.babyshowerstuff.com I used it for my baby shower 2 years ago, and am now using it for my friend. They have decorations, favors, game kits, and free game ideas. So then you can look at that and see what will work for you. Good luck and have fun!

This really isn't a game idea, but more of something to pass the time in a VERY fun way. I usually hate going to baby showers and bridal showers, etc. They are always the same. Except for the last one I went to. Instead of doing games everyone made a scrapbook page to go into the mother's album. There were little stations set up with different papers and accents. Tons of scissors and ribbons. It was fun because we all got to be creative and the time FLEW by. Not to mention now my sister has this really great baby book that is only waiting for the million pictures I know she'll be taking once the kid comes and she won't have the pictures piled in boxes or on cd's like I do. She truly appreciated it and shows the book to everyone now. I wish I had thrown her that party, she had a really great time too.

It's different, but really fun.

Another quick and easy game is to take the nicer paper napkins and fold into a diaper shape and secure with a small safety pin. Well in one of the "diapers" I squeeze a little bit of spicey brown mustard, this resembles baby poop. So everyone gets to pick a diaper and open it and the one with the dirty diaper wins.

I also have done a scrambled name game. This is a list of childrens names all scrambled up and you have to guess what the name is.

Try googling Baby Shower Games.

The 'poop' game was a big hit at my shower. You take a bunch of different kinds of candy bars and melt them in diapers (via the microwave). Then everyone has to guess what candy bar each one is.

There are a few I know of.

1. have a bowl of uncooked rice and the small plastic baby pins in there. Everyone gets a turn and it can range from 30 seconds to 1 minute per person. You blind fold a person, say start and they have to use only one had while trying to sift through and find as many of the fake plastic baby pins. Who ever has the most, wins a prize.

2. You have baby food jars lined up and numbered. The jars do not have the names on them at all. Every one gets a piece of paper and pen/pencil and gets a chance to guess at what kinds of baby food are in each jar. Who ever has the most right, wins a prize.

3. You have two teams, everyone lines up, and you say "go" they one by one put a diaper on a doll then take it off, tag the next person and so forth. Whatever team finishes the fastest wins a prize.

4. You have stickers or clothes pins. Tell them from the moment they come into the party that the second they say baby, they must give up one of theirs. Who ever has the most wins a prize.

We also did the poop diaper game at my baby shower. That was lots of fun! Another game that is great is TV families. You list a bunch of TV shows and then put the number of blanks for the number of kids the family had. Whoever gets the most kids for all of the families wins. Here are some examples of the shows we used:

7th Heaven -- The Camdens

____ ____ ____ ____ ____ ____ _____

Matt, Mary, Lucy, Simon, Ruthie, Sam, David

The Cosby Show -- The Huxtables

____ ____ ____ ____ ____

Sandra, Theo, Denise, Vanessa, Rudy

We also used shows like The Brady Bunch and The Partridge Family. Have fun!

1. Fill a small bowl with rice and about 10 safety pins (suppose to represent the pins that hold cloth diapers on). With their eyes closed each guest has to feel around the bowl and guess how many pins are in there. Closest one wins. It is a lot harder than it sounds.
2. 10 baby food jars labeled with numbers. You guessed it! Everyone has to taste each one and guess what kind it is. This one was too much fun at mine. One with the most matches wins.
3. bag with baby stuff (bottles, paci's etc). Feel around and write down what you think is in the bag. Most matches wins.
4. Everyone gets a safety pin when they get there. NOBODY is allowed to say "baby" for the entire shower. If you do, whoever catches you, gets your pin (and any others you have collected). Person with the most at the end wins.

Winners - get to choose from a stack of small gifts provided for the host for the mom to open (of course the mom gets all the gifts!!!!!!)

I LOVE games! I'm usually the coordinator at our events!
You should definitely keep the games rather simple so that everyone will want to and feel comfortable playing - we even got my grandfather to play.
Besides some of the ones that were already mentioned, I would recommend 2 more:
1 - word scramble - scramble common words that have to deal with babies (like bottle and diaper) and have people unscramble them. this is a timed game and the one with the most correct wins. You may search the Internet for existing games or send me an email and I can send you one of mine
____@____.com

2 - take an empty box top and tape 10-15 baby items to it (onesie, bottle, diaper, pacifer, etc.). Have someone walk around the room and show the top/tray to each guest for like 30 sec to a min. then leave. Then, have each guest write down how many items that they remember from the tray. The person with the most wins.

At a shower I had for a friend we had everyone put a paper plate on top of their heads, they then had 60 seconds to draw a picture of a baby on the paper plate. We let the mother to be judge the drawings for a prize. It was hillarious!!
Have fun!
