Fun Upscale Children's Stores

I am relatively new to the area and I am looking for some more upscale children's stores in the DFW area. I am looking for some nursery furniture items (basinettes, changing tables, etc.) and cute layette clothing. I don't want to spend too much money, but want something different and unique as opposed to the mainstream items available at superstores such as Babys R Us. Maybe some cute boutiques? Does anybpdy have any suggestions? Thanks!

You might try the stores at Southlake Townsquare-Magic Moon and Animal Crackers. Also, there are some cute shops along Main Street in downtown Grapevine. Happy Shopping!

L., Plano and Frisco has many children's shops. Sorry as I don't know exact names, I do know of a very cute and different furniture store in the Shops at Legacy (Plano), and in Frisco, the shops behind Stonebriar mall have a few different clothing and furniture stores.

Also, if anyone shared any great places with you, I would love if you would pass it on.

Take care,
Angi

Pottery Barn for kids has cute stuff - Knox off of Central Expressway in Dallas, and there is one in Plano/Frisco at 121 and Preston in Stonebriar Mall. Ritz Kids, Plano, Park Blvd. and North Dallas Tollway. Bedazzle, Plano, Legacy Road off of North Dallas Tollway. And there are a few stores off of North Dallas Tollway on Lovers (East side). Some are pricy, but maybe you can mix and match according to your budget. There are so many stores and boutiques -

Stephanie Anne and Magic Moon both have different baby furniture. Magic Moon is great for themed nursery, but not cutesy cartoonish themes. I have heard very bad things about the service at Stephanie Anne, especially for their high prices, but I believe Magic Moon is better. We visit the Southlake Town Square location.

For clothing, there are a few boutiques I know of - Baby Grand in Dallas and Chelsea Lane in Colleyville.

Hope that helps!

Pea Pod Creations is a great resource for custom bedding. She also carries patterns that are new and different from the others that you see. Amanda is the owner, based in Lewisville. Site is www.peapodcreations.com. I'd also check out www.bumpair.org for bumper pad information, to make sure you create a safe sleeping environment for your new little one.

Hi L.,

Welcome to Dallas!

ONe of my favorite places to shop for clothes from my daughter is Chocolate Soup in Dallas on Preston and Royal. Its been around for over 30 years (my mother used to by clothes there for me). They have great sales, too. They do carry their own line as well as other very nice brands.

Take care!

L.,

There is a store called Magic Moon in Southlake Town Square. I do not know the address or I would have posted a referral. They have beautiful cribs, bedding, and some layette. I think most of their items are custom, so it is quite pricey, but even if you don't want to spend that much, it is worth looking there just to get ideas. Southlake Town Square is off of 1709 and Magic Moon is in the front part by the gazebo thing. Please email me back if you have any questions or want better directions.

For little girls the store Room Service is great -- shabby chic and old fashioned florals and furniture. I believe it is on Lover's Lane near the tollway. There is also another baby furntiture (custom painted pieces) next door but I cannot remember the name.

There are also some off Preston and NW hwy (in the shopping center where Pickles and Ice Cream is), as well as one in Snider PLaza by SMU (sorry don't know the names of those).

I have several places you should try! Baby World on Inwood Road is great. The layout of the store is a bit messy, but they have great prices and adorable things. Also, Cat n The Fiddle in Plano is really cute, but can be pricy. Magic Moon in Plano is great too.... Hope this helps!
