My daughter's birthday is fast approaching and I have absolutely no idea what to get her! Can anyone share what your 3 year old daughter (or son for that matter)just loves to play with?

Thanks so much!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks to all of you for your great ideas! She has a kitchen but I just didn't think about getting some new "extras" for it. She also loves to dress up in my clothes and the highest heels she can find in my closet, so I will get some dress up clothes for her also. Thanks so much Mamas!!

I agree, my 3 girls number one toy when they were young was their kitchen. So many hours of cooking and roll playing.

They also loved their fisher price dollhouse and little tikes dollhouse. These are kind of a precursor to all that barbie stuff. The dolls are chunkier and easier to manipulate. No dressing involved, but tons of furniture and accessories.

When my daughter was 3 she really enjoyed anything doing with art. I bought her chalk boards, paint, giant paper, stensils, stampers, etc. She also loved to dress up, puzzles and play with outside things like the sandbox, balls, tricylcle, etc. Happy Birthday to your daughter!

My daughters favorite toy, and still a major contender 2 years later, has been her twin time dollhouse by fisher price!! They still play with it at least 5 times a week. If you are set up for it, a bike with training wheels is also a great purchase, both daughters got one for their 3rd birthdays. I hope that helps some. ~A.~

Kids LOVE to pretend at this age. The kitchen and shopping cart suggested before are an awesome idea.

Also, check out the fisher price stuff at your local store. The appropriate age is usually right on the box. If you are brave enough, take her with you to see what she likes. (I usually would have my son tell the toys "bye-bye" or "see you later" when we left and that helped us with leaving them behind when I did not want him to know what I was going to buy at a later time.)

Three is always a fun birthday do plan. Have fun with it. Check out my Mom-owned business.

Kitchen toys. My daughter loves to "cook" with her play dishes and play food. She just turned 4, but has been doing this for well over a year. We bought her a bunch of new kitchen stuff for her birthday. Toys R Us has a great selection at reasonable prices.
