make a tent to watch a movie inside.

I have a just turned 14 year old daughter. Are you looking for things to do with her OR for her to do on her own? My teen likes to go online and look at the crafts and then make them. She recently made bracelets out of the soda can pull taps. We hit the Red Box alot and rent movies for $1. She is also growing some tomatoes and herbs. Something fun she did a while back was to paint & decorate the terra cota pots and then plant her herbs in them. I would say just look at what interest her and then offer some ideas. At that age they just need an idea and then they should be able to run with it.

go to the mall and go window shopping
rent a movie from red box
play cards or a board game
read a good book
plant a garden
get some chalk and make drawings on the driveway - play hopscotch

Would she want to learn to sew? A sewing machine store usually offers lessons and have machines to use while taking the lesson. She might enjoy making a few things, and learn a great craft.
The Parks and Recreation in your town might have some great things for teens this summer.
Do you have a space outside that would be a nice rock garden? Maybe she can collect rocks and small figurines for a fairy garden.

Buy her a beading kit. I found one at a sale for my daughter and I think it's really cool.

crafts are good at this age. You two could pick up a piece of furniture at a thrift store and refinish it together.
might be a good time to find a volunteer opportunity.
take her to the gym and join a workout class together.
she could take cpr classes and jr lifeguard classes at the ymca
take her to the library and let her check out some books
she could start babysitting for spending money. again there are cpr classes and babysitting certifcation clases she can take

What does she like to do? Are you saying you want something for her to do independently or will you or a friend join her?

I went back and read a couple of your past posts. This is an age when a lot of girls change, there is drama, they are establinshing a pecking order.

You daughter needs you and your support more than every now and for the next few years. Communicate with her, let her know you have her back and support her. This is a difficult age when they are figuring out who they are.

FYI, it gets better... I have a 16 yr old.

Dannah Gresh wrote 2 neat books for tween girls. One of the books had 8 great dates for you to do with your daughter. Good stuff. "8 Great Dates for Moms and Daughters:How to talk about True Beauty, Cool Fashion and Modesty." She also wrote: Six Ways to Keep the Little in Your Girl: Guiding Your Daughter from Her Tweens to Her Teens. The date book had some good Mom/Daughter times together. Check them out.
