I have gotten my dd some gifts, but most of them are clothes...."boring" gifts. We are getting her an xbox that came with games, but I would like to get her something else that is fun and not just stuff I would buy her anyway (like clothes and shoes)
Any suggestions for tween girls that are actually fun? She already got an itunes gift card...

any board games or anything else?

What can I do next?

How about a musical, or a concert, a trip to the ballet or the opera? That's about when I started going. I thought it was excellent. Many venues have matinee shows if she can't manage to stay up for an 8:00 start.

Best,

My 11 yr. old loves books and anything affiliated with them (i.e. posters, earrings, shirts, etc..). She also loves to make jewelry, and she's in orchestra and plays the viola, so she'll be getting a music stand and a better stool for practicing. Just think of those little things she mentions off-handedly and make a mental note. The educational "toy" stores are wonderful because they carry items most other stores don't and they are loads of fun.

I liked the idea someone posted about a mani/pedi. Maybe hand-printed coupons for her and a friend to ice skate, go to a movie, go to a pottery or painting class or other such outing? Sounds simple, but she can hold on to the coupon for months and take advantage when Spring hits or whenever!

Have fun!

Everyone in my 11 yr olds class loves uno so I recently bought her friend uno dare for her bday. It's traditional uno with dare cards mixed in. Beat the parents is going to be under our tree. Mine also loves loom bands so I got her a travel loom. Would she like a robot kit? I bought ours a sole robot kit-they can make 5 different robots-one was a puppy, that are soler powered.
Also a jewelry box and coin purse set.
Everything else on her list was electronics or NorthFace.

Well, I have a tween boy, and according to him, the girls in his grade are ALL about Vera Bradley backpacks!

What about a journal?
A classic Christmas movie? That could be a nice tradition.
Snow globe?
Nail polish, files, toe separators for a pedi?
Classic book?
Lip gloss?

You could get her a gift certificate to an interesting/fun place for her and a friend (anything from indoor skydiving to one of those paint-your-own-pottery places).

And it depends on what she likes, but you could get her something like a sewing machine or jewelry making equipment if she likes to make things (getting something "real" means a lot to an 11 year old, would be great if she likes Project Runway or shopping on Etsy).

Our 11 year old is getting a guitar and a sewing machine. She's also getting some nail polish and things like that. Those are all things she asked for. She loves clothes and shoes so those won't be 'boring' gifts to her. Good luck! Merry Christmas!

My niece is getting guitar lessons. I loved crafts at that age - a loom or small potter's wheel would have been great.

My 11 year old asked for a lot of clothing items this year as well. But for "fun" stuff she also asked for Origami Owl, rainbow loom items, books, makeup/nail stuff, Just Dance 2015, Lego's, Bath and Body Works things, and the Wilton's Ultimate Decorating Kit (she's an avid baker).

She recently had a Christmas performance and brought some games backstage for her and her friends to play on their down time. She chose Apples to Apples and Sorry. If you don't have those, they are both fun games.

How about a selfie shutter for her iphone/ipod? They are all about selfies at 11. We got ours a gift certificate to a cooking class as well. Gift card to the movies so she and a friend can go.

Movie tickets (all chains sell gift cards) and an IOU from you to take her and friends to the movies. Kids love to go out with friends and at age 11 she can't exactly do all the logistics and travel herself!
Package the tickets with some microwave popcorn to set the mood.
Make the outing soon, over the Christmas break if you can arrange it with her friends' folks.

There are craft kits that use Washi tape to make a pocket book and headband, my nieces adore those, and they are 10, 12, and 13.

Family Dollar and Walgreens have a kit with nail polish and a nail dryer, $5. She might like that.
How about starting a set of ornaments for her? Each year get her new decorations so when she has her own place she will have her own decorations.

Had you thought about taking her to your local
homeless shelter and seeing what they need for
Christmas?

Let her give them something of hers.
Just wondering how to teach a young persona about giving instead
of receiving so many material things.
What about the Spirit of Christmas.

Sorry, I think she is getting more than other kids her age. Why not get her a Game Stop gift card to go buy games and stuff for her xbox.

At that age, my niece loved crafts - those kits with the beads and such to make jewelry or headbands or bracelets.
