Well, I just had my first go around of frizzy hair in Texas! I was outside with my daughter's school fundraiser run and the weather was misty and my hair just went out of control! Recently moved here and have not had to deal with this frizzy hair issue since leaving the east coast over 5 years ago! My hair is thin, fine, wavy and shoulder length. Does anyone have any tricks of the trade that could help tame the mane?

Aveda Phomollient. I have hair that turns into a big pouf-ball with any form of humidity and this is the only thing I've ever found that keeps it looking the same without weighing it down or glossing it to extremes. Discovered this through my hairstylist years ago and swear by it now.

now you know why women in texas have big hair!! I did the Brazilian blowout last summer and it was worth every cent!! It completely blocks humidity and moisture leaving my locks frizz free no matter what the weather was like
It's expensive but I do a keratin treatment. I used to go to the salon to get it done but it costs like $300 every 6 months. Not bad really if you break it down yourself to $50 a month for smooth, non chemically straight no frizz hair. :)
But a friend said she did it on her own for way cheaper. So I tried it...got keratin by Coppola. It cost me $112 for the bottle of straightener (but that's about 3 seperate 6 month uses- and then bought the shamp/cond for another $30---I have been told you can use Loreal Sulfate free stuff but I still just use the Coppola product) It's a bit of a process (wash hair 3x, apply the solution, flat iron with a 450degree iron, and can't wash hair or wear ponytails for 3 days). But in the end----my hair is smooth, straight, super shiny, and I cut my styling down to shower and blow dry. I don't have to do anything to my hair. It's awesome. Oh and I live in GA and it's ridiculously humid here. And my hair doesn't even frizz when it rains.
Other than that---I've heard but never tried Fekkai Coiff Ironless Straightening Balm which is like $25 a bottle.
My hair is baby fine and permed so I get dry frizzy hair days too. Paul Mitchell leave in hair conditioner works great, only available in salons. It a light blue color and you only need to use a small amount about the size if a pea. Squirt into hand, rub hands together, run through hair, style as usual.
One point... if you see salon only items in a big box store they are bootleg items with no guarentee of what is actually in the bottle. Salon only brands can only be sold in a salon or beauty supply store.
You got a lot of great responses. I think if you're looking for a daily fix, lightly mousse your hair and wear it curly on those days.
They make antihumidity products. But what I've found is if I use heavy moisturizing shampoos and conditioners it really helps. Dove, Pantene, and Garnier Fructese are really heavy. Then a "smoothing creme." I use Garnier. And Finsih with a simethicone anti frizz serum. It's the little bottle of clear gloss. You just use the tiniset drop. Also sold in a spray mist. All available at WalMart. It's also great to use a straightener with a heat protectant spray before hand. You straighten the frizz out and then seal it out with the gloss. With your thin, fine hair this stuff may weigh your hair down too much, so play with differant combinations.
