My friend's a/c unit started dripping pretty bad where she has a bit of her carpet wet. Does anyone know of a budget friendly, yet reliable service?

If her husband is the least bit handy (or if she is) have her check the drip pan. Many times those are full and need to be emptied- that will at least stop the leak until an AC guy can look everything over.

you can try metro energy savers they have financing and are good.
Her condensate line might be stopped up. Also, have her check her unit outside see if the line is frozen, if so turn the unit off and let it defrost. Change ths filter. Most problems occur because of a dirty filter. If that doesnt work she will need to call someone. But most good companies are expensive. Charge about $78 an hour.
