Hi M., Regal cinema has free kids movies on Tuesday and Wednesday every week this summer. Visit this website for more details... www.regmovies.com/nowshowing/familyfilmfestivalschedule.aspx
If you like Chuckie Cheese they have printable coupons if you register with their site.

Also another idea you may consider is a membership to a favorite place, like the zoo. We bought a family membership to the Dallas World Aquarium for around $100 I think, and another family membership to the Science Place in Fairpark for about the same price. I know it sounds like a lot of money, but when you think about how many times you can use it in a year, it is really more affordable. I am a SAHM with 3 kiddos, and now we always have something fun to do this summer.

Hope that helps!

Dallas Public Library does free programs with drama, music, art, dancing...you name it. They have weekly programs at Northpark Mall on Weds and Saturdays and then the branches each have programs on different days of the week. The city of dallas parks dept has some pools that are open in summer and not free but cheap. Roller skating and miniagure golf are also not too expensive.

I used "Dallas Parent" magazine to find out all the vacation Bible schools happening in my neighborhood. My boy is going to four this summer and is so excited about all those songs and crafts. Most are free and some have a $5 materials fee (maximum $10 per family.)

I recently asked the same question and received a lot of terrific ideas!

However I think the most fun my 2 and 6 yr. old grandkids had cost me $1.50 for 'duck food' at the bread store. Richardson has the lovliest linear park between Plano Rd and Jupiter. There are sidewalks, bridges, tables, benches, shade trees and probably at least 100 hungrey ducks and geese. Even a pair of Canadian geese! We saw 2 turtles and a catfish. I have seen older kids as well as adults fishing there.

The best part is that they keep wanting to go back!!!!

Go early, before it gets too hot and before the critters are full. If you are the first on the scene you may be mobbed!

If you don't live close, I'm sure there are many other duck and fish ponds in the area.

Not sure where you are or what type of activity you are looking for, but there are lots of Free or low cost things to do with kids in the DFW area. Try googling free things to do in Dallas and you will get lots of ideas. Check with your local library, they usually have story times and other summer activities. Many of the bookstores like Barnes and Noble will also have special activities. Also, many Rec Centers have some free activities. In Dallas, there are several "spray parks" that are free - areas where water shoots up out of the ground and you run around and play in it. My boys love to ride the DART train to Downtown Dallas and just walk around and look at the buildings. They also enjoy riding all of the elevators and escalators. At the CityPlace DART station, they have 3-story escalators and elevators that go sideways. My kids could ride them for hours.
