Hi Mamas-

I am ready to donate my hair again (this will be my 6th time). I know that Great Clips/Super Cuts/Fantastic Sams will give you a free cut, but times 2 and 3 were done at a place like this and the cuts were not too good (time 3 I had to go back 3 times to get it fixed...not a good experience). Needless to say that time 4, I paid full price at a salon to get it done (I looked for the place I went and it looks like they went out of business). The cut was okay, but not great. Time 5 was great, but I was in Oregon (again I went to a salon but they offered me a discounted price because I was donating).

Does anyone know of a Salon (with a hair cutter recommendation) that will cut my hair either for free or for a discount? If not, do you have a hairstylist you love in south South Gilbert area? I don't mind paying $40+ for a good haircut, I just get my hair cut so infrequently (about every 18 months) that I have not found a good one in this area.

Dolce Salon & Spa will do a complimentary cut & style! I just did this {for the second time} at the Chandler location in December. You fill out the paperwork when you get there, and they send it in for you too! (Through Locks of Love anyway.) I got an appt with a Level 7 hairstylist, which would have normally been a $70 haircut! All I paid was a tip, which I tipped generously since she did it for free. GO THERE!!! And yes, I LOVED my cut and style when I was done!

Mood Swings Salon on Mill Ave. in Tempe will do a complimentary haircut as long as the donated hair is at least 10" long (which is the minimum length for donations to Locks of Love, www.locksoflove.org). Mood Swings provides a relaxing, pampering experience, whether for a haircut, or any of their other services. I have been getting my hair colored and cut there for the past five years and have always had a good experience. BTW, a facial with Alicia is a wonderfully relaxing treat, highly recommended!

I agree with Lisa N. I went to Chandler Dolce (outside Chandler Mall) years ago and donated my hair and I've been using them ever since for myself and my daughters for hair, waxing, facials and massages. It can become an addiction.

I go to Rick at The Edge Salon over near Gilbert and Warner (I think it's in the Gilbert Crossroads? Just south of Warner is Civic Center Drive... it's in there) I've never donated my hair 'cause I can't seem to wait long enough for it to get that long, so you'll have to call and ask.
