Hello Mamas~
I have a mirror in one of my bathrooms that measures 54"x42" and I am wanting to add a frame to it...to update it and also to hide a small corner that I broke. when looking online or at Michaels, it seems to be very expensive...does anyone have any creative ideas for how to frame it for less?
Thanks in advance,
T. L.

Buy crown molding that you like at lowe's or home depot, and finishing nails. Paint the crown molding whatever color you want before you hang it, don't forget to paint the back as you will see a little refection in the mirror. Us the finishing nails to hang the molding and then paint over the nails. It will look georgous and shouldn't cost you more than $30 or so.

I saw mirror frames in Home Depot and Lowes by the mirror section.

You could use crown moulding. The only tricky part is if your husband can miter (sp?) the corners. Also, check Hobby Lobby for pre made frames when they put them 1/2 off or you can usually print a coupon off of their website to save 40% off one item...I don't know if they will have a pre-made that size?? Good Luck!!

Home Depot or Lowe's should be able to miter (angle) the corners properly so you can fit the pieces together.

Get some nice crown molding (or a combination of a couple), have it precut and mitered to the correct size at the store, and then nail it up, or you may need to glue it directly to the mirror if there is not enough wall space. (The guys at the store should be able to point you in the right direction).

When nailing the moulding together, dab a little wood putty over the nail holes and sand it flush once it's dry, so you can get a nice surface to paint or stain.
