Formula Donations

Hi Moms - Does anyone know where I can donate unopened formula? I have one large bottle of organic (I think the brand is Similac) and several smaller bottles of Enfamil that the hospital gave me. They're all the already mixed type. My DD ended up being exclusively breastfed and I don't want the formula to go to waste. If you have any specific ideas, please let me know. Thanks so much!

Carenet pregnancy services can use the formula (and coupons for formula too). I think they have three or four locations - one is in Glen Ellyn and another in Downers Grove. You can log on to www.carenetdupage.com/carenet/about.jsp for more info/locations.

I'm giving mine to a women's shelter. Same reason! I know there is one, CWC, google online for others. I haven't done it yet.

I think a women's shelter could use it and appreciate it. How thoughtful of you!

i would donate it to the needy...rather than give to pediatrician. i think there's a community center called CORNERSTONE that can really use this kind of stuff. a friend of mine donated a highchair and other kids' stuff and she said that they REALLY appreciate it and used it. jane addams is another one, i think. good luck!

Take them to your daughter's pediatrician.

And edited to add...

The reason I recommended the pediatrician is because they would know which of their patients would be the neediest and use it.

Check out freecycle.org -- That's how I got rid of the formula that we got from the hospital too. My baby was breastfed and I hated for the unused formula to go to waste!
