Food Dehydrator - Any Suggestions?

Hi all -
I'm thinking of buying a food dehydrator. It would be an occasional-use gadget - not something I did everyday. I would like to get something quality, but nothing industrial sized or too pricey. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

I think I got a Sunbeam or something like that a few years back. Hubby usually uses it to make jerky. About a month back he did do parsley for me which was great. I think I will get more and then put it in canning jars for storage. The color was so green and it smelled like parsley not that stuff in the spice isle.

It has like six shelves. I probably bought a few extra back then. Next we will do dried fruit next.

Have fun with it.

I didn't think I'd use mine much either but the kids love fruit leather and it's so easy to make with frozen fruits from Bithel Farms. We do an order twice per year when they come to Oklahoma. I buy so much stuff from them! It's all so very good.

Mixing up some fruit is easy this way. I have fresh from the farm fruits that I can thaw out and do in minutes. Easy easy easy.

I make it all the time with the dehydrator. It's my fil's but he lets me come over and use it whenever I want to.

If it's just for occasional use, you can dehydrate things in your oven on it's lowest setting.
We've made fruit leather on a cookie sheet using the oven.
It works fine.
