Depends when you are going and availability. I've been a travel agent for over 5 years and my experience has been the best with Pleasant Holidays, they have contracts with the major carriers. We are 2 adults traveling in June with a 2 year old and infant. Air only online was around $800 per ticket. Booked through Pleasant we paid $680, airfare AND an suv for 7 days. The flights are non stop.
Good luck & Aloha!

alaska.com was advertsing specials last week.. we booked online.. also my husband and I both hold an alaska air credit card.. so we had 2 companion tickets that we used.. that saved us a ton of money.

I agree with calling Hawaiian Airlines. I have flown to Hawaii several times and I prefer Hawaiian over other carriers for many reasons, including price.

Good luck!

We don't deal with any discounter. Discounted ticket holders are the first to be bumped.

I book travel almost daily for us, mostly business but pleasure as well.

I deal with only American and Southwest specific website. You can get some good deals through these 2 carriers.

kayak.com can send you alerts when fares go down. Also, sometimes you can save money going to Hawaii if you book a package deal that includes airfare and hotel, especially if you want to go to Waikiki.

Alaska Air recently added some new flights to the islands and was running some specials. I usually check "booking buddy" because they take you to several of the major discounting websites like travelocity. Sometimes I go there just to see who flies the route I want and general pricing info and then I go to the airline's website to book it. I've booked flights with Expedia and Travelocity and not been bumped yet, but I don't fly that often and when I do, I check in early.
