Five Year Old Girl Birthday Party

My daughter will be turning give in June. I am looking for different ideas for her birthday. We have traditionally done a family party at our house, but she has been in a mother's day out program for the past year, so she has a couple of friends she would like to invite. Do I just invite everyone over to the house? It seems like a lot of people. I thought about taking she and two or three friends to Libby Lu. It that too old for her age group? My other thought was to have the kids over in the early afternoon, then the family over in the evening. It needs to be within the Arlington area. Thank you for any advice you can give.

Try Little Gym Arlington/Mansfield. My five year old has has 2 parties here and everyone loved it. The ages of children invited were 1 to 10 so everyone including parents can interact.

Best of luck on your findings.

I just had to deal with this same issue myself last week! We have lots of family in the area, go to preschool, play soccer, are involved in our church, and my husband is a professor so we have a whole other group of friends there. What we decided to do was to have a glizzy girl Barbie party that very quickly limited the party to just girls. Then I drew the line at just her preschool friends. We had it in the afternoon, so no lunch, just cake, ice cream and drinks, and for only a 2 hour period. My daughter LOVED it and it wasn't to h*** o* the pocket book. If you still felt you needed to invite family you could have everyone over for dinner that night and get it all over in one day. Good luck! :o)

A really cute place is Sweet and Sassy. There is one in Fort Worth on Hulen, in the Bellaire area south of I30, North of I20 (about halfway between both). There's also one in Southlake Town Square. It's a cute salon and they do the girls' hair, paint their nails, put a glittery star on their cheek, dress them up and have a fashion show down the runway set to music. My daughter went with her cheerleading team and then my sister-in-law had her daughter's birthday there. It's a blast. If you do it early on a Saturday morning it's not too crazy in there! Libby Lu is fun and Justice for Girls stores do them too. When my daughter turned 5 we did a roller skating party and it was fairly inexpensive. Bowling is fun too, they put bumpers up for the kids.

If you know of anyone that is a member at a YMCA they have nice swim parties that are inexpensive. You get to swim for an hour and a half, then they have a party room that you get for like another half hour. Its $60 and I think you can have like 10 kids. You can call to get more info. I am dealing with the same situation as my daugher turns 6 in June. My husband has a huge family, so I am telling them that Im having a slumber party for her so if they would like to stop by for cake and ice cream they can. That way it doesn't sound like a big organized party. Just letting them know if they wanted to stop and wish her a happy birthday they are welcome to.

Hi K.,
I offer two "come to you" party entertainment options. One is a "build your own animal" party where the children stuff their own animals with their own hands (a birthday party workshop lasts about 1 hour). The other is a make-up type party where they girls apply and get to keep 4 make-up products, 1 fashion accessory, and a cute little fuzzy purse. We end with a fashion show. That also lasts about an hour.
My prices are reasonable, and my products are very good. I have been in the party entertainment business now for 4 years and am a certified Texas teacher of 21 years. I also have references available upon request- you can also view some testimonies from other parents at my site- www.MakeYourOwnStuffedAnimal.com
And, since your guests will be taking home either a new furry friend or fun make-up products, you don't have to worry with goody bags. So, you receive entertainment and products for one great price.
Thank you,
R. B.

Hey K.,

I do parties for you that are similar to "Build A Bear". The children actually get to stuff their own animals, wish upon a rainbow star, do a birth certificate, and do a craft or game. My website is www.letsstuffnfluff.com. I do the party for you, no supplies are needed and will supply the goodie bags related to the theme of your party. The cost is from $13 per child.
