I am cloth diapering a 4 week old and use prefolds. I want to switch to fitted or all-in-ones, or a combination, and am looking for opinions/advice about what works for you- such as the pros and cons of each. I will be going back to work and daycare center will not use prefolds, but has agreed to try an easier method such as fitted/AIO.

So What Happened?

I went with fitted for during the day (Kissaluvs and MotherEase) and pocket for nighttime. The fleece in the pocket dipes keep him feeling drier and I can stick more into the pockets for absorbancy. I have 2 AIO and I find them to leak and never reach for them. Thanks for the advice.

I just started cloth diapering my 4 month old and we have one BumGenius that I love. Normally we use the prefolds and covers, but the AIO is SO much easier. I'd definitely recommend a BumGenius. Also, certain Targets in the area have started selling Bumkins - you could try those as well and not have to pay shipping or look all over the place.

Good luck!

Hi I am sorry I havent used the prefitted, but my son was in daycare and they used the prefold infant diapers with velcro covers... they used the same cover unless it was soiled and they found it super easy. The director was very nice and the girls said they were going to put it on their resume! I bought the little trash bags (about a million in the box!) from costco and they would put each diaper in the bag and tie a knot and at the end of the day I would take them home. Maybe they dont want to do prefold cause of pins but we dont use pins with the cheap velcro covers I use :)

I've never been a fitted fan. I did have some kissaluvs 0's when my daughter was a newborn. They fit great and are super soft. I just tended to reach for the prefolds. They seem less bulky to me. I've used bumgenius one sized pockets. Never have used an AIO. I like being able to add an extra preemie prefold in the pockets for night time. The BG pockets might still be a little big at 4 weeks. I think we started using them closer to 6 or 8 weeks. I wonder why the daycare won't use prefolds. They're super simple to me. I just trifold them and lay them in the cover. No need for snappis or pins when you're using a good fitting cover. For the newborn stage covers we really liked were bummis super whisper wraps, proraps, thirsties, and some mama made pretty ones. My daughter is now 18 mos and we have stuck with the BG pockets and covers/prefolds.

I just started cloth diapers; my son is just over two. I did a lot of research and I found a lot of raves about Kissaluvs fitted diapers for little ones.

I have some for toddlers and I like them because they are not as bulky, and they dry faster. I use the AIO for nighttime, but still struggle with leaks. I also use prefolds with covers because of cost, but I love the fitted better.

Have you tried Luving Mamma Diapers? Brandy is in Troy and sells many diapers and is very helpful with questions.

Good Luck.
