How long did your little ones play with these toys? I mean up until what age? I just bought a little people Noahs Arc boat and a L.P. barn for my kids. They are 2.5 and 3.5 and I am sorta regretting it now, it is a Christmas present. Just because I think they may be getting too old to be interested in them. I am not sure though, they have never had any toys similar to this before, I mean with people that you role play with. IDK i got it used for a really good deal so worst case I can always give it away. THANKS

What can I do next?

I can't remember how old but I do remember if you want them to fall in love with them again you need to pack them up for goodwill or something like that. For some reason the minute you want to take a toy away it becomes their favorite thing on earth!!!

I think it depends on the child but I would say they would love them until around 6 or 7 and the people are fun even without the ark or barn if they want to use them with other things too. I have many of the people for the grandchildren to play with and they use them in cars, houses, etc., etc.

I think it depends on the kid.

My oldest never really got into the Little People (he preferred to just play cars - not people). But my second and third still play with them on occasion and they are turning 4 and 6 in the next few weeks (girl and boy).

I think your kids are the perfect age for Little People!

I have A. opinion that people today push their kids into the "big kid" toys too soon these days, and kids miss out on the opportunity to really use their imagination with some of the classic simple toys.

I think they'll be great!

Mine actually played with these until they were around 6, but I am sure a lot of naysayers will tell you otherwise. My 10 year old still plays with all of his imaginext toys too. I hope no one tells him the label says 3-8.

My son got his first LP fire engine and farm blocks when he was 6 months old. Since then, we have added A. ambulance, rescue car, garage and tow truck, garbage truck, police car and police station/post office, postal truck, construction crane with some dump trucks, and A. airport. He recently turned 5. These are some of his favorite toys.

He currently is playing with the LP airport with his Duplo bus and his Spiderman, Batman, and Superman action figures. They are trying to rescue his toy story action figures from the Evil Doctor Porkchop who has turned into a ghost (He used a tissue as a ghost costume.) All that and there is a Formula 1 car race taking place with the LP people as spectators on the ramp of the airport which was turned into a bus station. Now the alien from toy story has captured everyone and is taking them away to his jack-o-lantern shaped planet via his little purple basket that he turned into a spaceship.

The LP sets hold up well, and are great for getting them to use their imaginations. Encourage your kids to combine them with their other toys. Let them decide when they are done playing with them. I think it is so sad when I see little kids age five (some of my son's Sunday school class members) only playing video games and collecting cards because that's what their older siblings do. My friend's son who is 8 doesn't seem to mind playing with my son's LP sets when they have visited us, even though he always brings some video game thing to play while here.

We also have the LP nativity scene that we only have out from November 1 until around December 29. We are living in Japan now. Christmas decorations go up November 1 here until December 24. If they are up, then, I get the set out so he can stay focussed on the real meaning of Christmas. We keep them out until we take our decorations down.

My daughter is 5 and she still plays with hers. She has a castle and plays with it and her little people and her my little ponies all together.

She also loves playing with the one I played with as a little girl, and to be honest, so do I.

I think they are the perfect age. My daughter was really, really into LP at that age. She is 5 now and will still play with them. My son is 3 and also was very into LP. He still likes them and plays with them often, but honestly, he has sort of moved into the Imaginext series of FP. I think it's mostly b/c of influence of big sis, she has some smaller action doll type toys and I think that has made him graduate to those smaller people. We have the barn and it still gets used a lot around here! That is one of the favorites for sure!

my kids played with them til they were in school full time. and even then used them in other playing things. (fire truck to put out a fire in batman world etc) my daughter had the original castle with the wooden people and pink dragon she was 13 when our youngest was born and he played with it for years. only just got rid of it a few years ago as the people were wearing out. we added in the grey castle when the middle sons were born and the grandkids play with tht now. don't ever be sorry you bought a little people thing. they will be used for years and years. you can put them in the attic in plastic bags when your kids are too old and bring them back down later for the grandkids.

Our daughter stopped playing w/ them right before she turned 6. So I think you are good to go with the ages of your kids.

My 4 year old still loves the people. He doesn't play with the barn so much, but loves to set up all the gates and some of the animals and people combined with cars and trains. We create a little town with it. Also, we recently bought the ark set for a two year old. I was thinking it would be a great bath toy or even in the sandbox or pool. (although it bothers me that the animals and people have a tiny little hole in the bottom for water to get stuck) I think LP hold their value really well as they are such good quality. You could always put them on eBay if your kids don't play with them enough!

My 11,8 & 3 year old all love the Fisher Price playsets. I played with mine forever as a child too.
Right now they are temporarily in the garage as we are redoing the playroom and they ask for them back often.
They play with the ones at my parents house whenever we go over.

My boys played with the Little People all the time until they were in Kindergarten, and then they still played with the Little People barn and garage etc, but with their Hot Wheels cars and their Spiderman/Batman action figures. They are great toys and nearly indestructible. You'll be able to resell them when your kids are done with them, no problem. They are very popular with all the pre-schoolers in my room at work as well.

Check the age limits on the box. Are they for your age child? If so they should be interested. If they are for older kids then you need to hold on to them until the younger one is older.

Little people still fit through the paper roll inside the toilet paper. So they are really not intended for kids under 3.

My neice has many of these. She still plays with them. She just turned 11. My children like to play with them when they visit my sister (ages 10 and 6). They also play with the ones we have in spurts. Great toys.

I was 9 and my d was 8. She still asks "who did we give them to" because she has such great memories of them. \
The Noah's Ark annoyed me because it would not stay closed when she carried it. Maybe it had been dropped? It was the only LP product I ever had trouble with.
