I went to the doctor today for my first prenatal check up. I went in think that i was 10 weeks pregnant but when i went for the ultrasound it was only 7 weeks big. My doctor could see the heartbeat and it looked good. The doctor wasn't worried but i'm a little worried about it so I'm going to get another ultrasound in 2 weeks. I had a simular situation when i was 18 and i ended up having a missed miscarriage so i went on for a month thinking that i was pregnant before i found out it died and it died at 8 weeks. So now i'm worried it could happen again. Has this ever happened to anyone and didn't have a miscarriage?

What can I do next?

My daughter was a slow grower at first, in 2 weeks I only grew what they said was normal for approx 5-6 days. At about 4 1/2 months, she was as big as she was supposed to be, and she was born a very healthy baby at 10# 4oz, 24 inches long. Her apgar scores were 9 and 10. Don't stress yourself out, your baby will be fine. Make sure you are eating everything you need to, to keep that baby healthy and happy!

Don't worry yet. My last 2 babies it was very unclear till about 5 months how far along I really was because my periods were crazy. After my 5 month ultrasound they moved by due date back 4 weeks.

My situation was actually exactly like yours, I went in for my ten week ultrasound and found out that my daughter was only about seven weeks along. My daughter is healthy as can be. It's hard to predict, especially if your menstruation isn't really right on, or if you ovulated a little early or late. Don't worry too much about that part. I hope everything is healthy and well!

Actually I had that happen with my last 2 children and am having it happen again with my 4th. But what it was that they were slightly miss calcualting early in the pregnancy because my children's father is a small man. He is only 5'4" so they were saying I was not as far along as I was. Later in the pregnancy they seemed to develop quicker and were fine born 7lbs 8oz with my son and 8 lbs 3 oz with my daughter. Also it wasn't until about 5 1/2 months pregnant or so that they grew up to the size they were supposed to be the doctor was sayin they were 4 1/2 months and when we went for the ultrasound at that time they realized they were 5 1/2 months along. I have also had 2 miscarriages and yes it is scary. The main thing is that u are getting the second ultrasound at 12 weeks. Once you hit 12 weeks your risk of miscarrying drops dramatically. Good Luck and God Bless You

Something similar happened to me. I thought I was 3 weeks farther along then the ultrasound said. I had high blood pressure and gestational diabeties and had to have ultrasounds every month. They always said my baby was perfect and that her due date was indeed 3 weeks different then what I thought. They had her due date at March 12, I had her on Feb. 20th (3 weeks early) and she was 8 lbs 8 oz and a very healthy baby girl. Sometimes, mom does know best.

Don't worry too much, 3 years prior I too had a miscarriage at 8 weeks. They told me my hormone levels were weird and that I was not as far along as I thought, so it could just be your body.

Good luck and congrats!

exact conception is hard to predict, so your days may have been a little off. sometimes throughout your pregnancy they may adjust your weeks too. once you can hear a heartbeat, it is pretty rare that you could miscarry. getting another ultrasound is a good idea if it helps calm your nerves.

good luck!

I would have to say dont worry yet. Predicting the exact due date I think is very difficult, as I had my period for three months and on the fourth month I missed I went in and found out I was pregnant and told them when my last period was and it didnt match the due date the ultrasound was giving. So not to worry . You will be fine, Congratulations and stay strong
