You could do the traditional teddy bear. Wilton has a great Stand up Teddy cake pan. For my son's first b-day, I did a farm theme (he loves animals) I mad the invitations. I cut red construction paper in the shape of the Barn. And put, Old Mac"Jackson" is turning One. And on the inside put
E I E I O, and the party info. I did a whole farm cake complete with barn, pond, pretzel fence. Frosted Pretzel corn field with oreo dirt. (I love making cakes). You could also do something as simple as a round cake frosted white with black cow spots. I had checkered table clothes and had a camp fire and we had a weinie roast and made smores (great fun for the adults and older kids). We played find the cow in the sandbox. I hid several different animals in the sandbox. Everyone got to keep the plastic animal they found and the person that found the cow got an exta prize. (I bought $2-5 gifts for every child that attended the party and we played games for them to win a prize). We had a 3 legged race. Child with adult. Every one had a great time. I did a sesame street theme for my daughter first party. ELMO! For her second birthday we did bugs and went on a bug hunt. You could do a "crockadile hunter" theme and go on a safari in your back yard. Have treats like croc eyes (grapes) bug wings (chips) gummy worms. do a paper bag pinata. I have a ton of ideas. Just let me know what your son likes right now and I would be more than happy to send you my ideas.

Are you having it somewhere or will it be at your home? All depends on what you are looking for. BTW is this for Michael W.'s little boy by any chance?

Hello- Congrats on the first B-day and Baptism. Unfortunatley a first birthday is always for the adults. I just had my daughter 1st birthday 2 weeks ago and her baptism last June. For both of my kids I did a small theme for their party and made goodie bags for all the kids that were there but as far as advice I would say keep it small and save the cash for their second birthday and throw a big party that they can enjoy and kind of remember. We did that for my son at 2 it was all Elmo and he still remembers it. It was worth the wait. Good luck with your adventures. P.
