I will be moving from NC to the St. Louis area withing a few weeks and I'm pregnant with my 3rd. I'm not due till March, but will need to find a place soon! Our new zip code will be near 63119. Any recommendations? Also, has anyone seen Dr. Jerome Sacher or have reviews on MO Baptist, or Barnes-Jewish hospital? So far this is the only recommendation I have, but its from a birth 14yrs ago...Thank you!

What can I do next?

H.,

Dr. Shanon Forseter is AWESOME!! I can't say enough good things about him. He delivers at Mo Bap and just about any hospital in the St. Louis area so you'll have lots of choices. I delievered at Mo Bap and had a good experience. My husband works in OB at Barnes from time to time and while you'll get good care, it's not what he would've picked for me. Dr. Forseter's number is ###-###-#### He is located off New Ballas Rd - which is down the street from both St. Johns and Mo Bap.

Good luck.

Hi H.! I read some of the responses and one of them sticks in my head. She mentioned Dr. Gray-Swain off of Oakland Ave. My OBGYN Dr. Turner and Dr. Gray Swain are in the same office. They are both GREAT!! They deliver at Barnes Jewish Hospital and I think they also do MO Baptist, but I'm not positive!! I delivered at Barnes 2 years ago and loved it!! They did push my sister and mom out when it was time for me to starting pushing!! I delivered at the beginning of Aug and there were a lot of pregnant women in there while I was there, but no one ignored me. If my nurse was taken away, there was someone else right there!! I ended up with a nurse from Triage and she was EXCELLENT!! As far as OBGYN, I would highly recommend Dr. Gray Swain or Dr. Turner - they're both female!! The address is 1110 Highlands Plaza Dr. E, St. Louis, MO 63110 and their phone number is ###-###-####. The group name is called West End OBGYN!! Good luck!!

I see Dr. Rockamann, in the same practice as Dr. Rempe (mentioned previously). She's awesome! For my first in 2005 I lived in 63119 and the drive to MOBAP isn't that bad, and will be much better once the highway opens up in Dec. 09. They are a very busy practice, but thorough and sensitive to your needs. MOBAP is amazing, with top notch staff. Although I haven't delivered at Barnes, I work at the WashU Med Center and know that the care is very good, but again, not as "cushy" as MOBAP. definitely take a tour of both facilities before you decide.

Hi,

Dr Sachar delivered my baby girl 9 months ago (she's also my third baby). Delightful man, great bedside manner and if you are high risk (I am a type 2 diabetic) definitely capable of managing the pregnancy.

I delivered at MO Baptist and I must say a very nice place to have the baby. There is a tour you can take if you are unsure.

Good luck and let me know if there is anything else you'd like to know.

I see Dr. Sachar and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE him and his entire office. (My children are 7 and 3) We moved to STL when I was pregnant with my first and our realtor recommended him. He truly makes you feel like you are his only patient. My second pregnancy was a higer risk pregnancy and Dr. Sachar and his staff made me feel so comfortable and confident about the entire process. And I think the facilities at Mo Baptist were incredible. They took care of the "mama" and daddy and siblings too. Top notch in my book. Good luck with your selection and your move.

I recommend Dr Gregory Jewell or K. Lemoine. They are both in the same office at the doctor's building at St. John's Hospital. My ob is Dr Jewell and he is wonderful. I have also seen Dr Lemoine a couple times when my doctor was unavailable and liked her as well. Also, everyone in the office is very nice.

Oh, Sachar is my doctor! I love him and all his staff! I will warn you, he has a bit of a dry sense of humor, but he's absolutely wonderful. He delivered our first in December 2005 and now I'm due again in March with our second. I know others who go to him as well and they all sing his praises. From what I understand, the other doctors in his office are fabulous too. Good luck, and congrats!

Don't have a doctor recommendation but would definitely recommend Mo Baptist. I had 3 of my 4 children there and is definitely a nice place. It is really nice and you get alot of personal attention and I loved the food. Good luck.

I personally would recommend delivering at St. Johns Mercy Medical Center. Many people will tell you that this is a "baby factory" b/c they deliver so many children and to me THAT is precisely why anyone shoudl deliver there. They are cpmpletely equiped to deal with newborn issues and your child will not be moved to another hospital should the need for it arise b/c s/he would be moved to St. Johns or Childrens if s/he had issues at another hospital not equipped to handle the matter. I'm not sure where 63119 is, but I see a Dr. named Anne Piche-Radley (Dr. Radley), as do both my sisters and we've had 6 pregnancies between us with Dr. Radley. She works with Genesis OBGYN.

Welcome to St. Louis, H..

Just a word about Barnes-Jewish. I delivered my first child there 1.5yrs ago and had a good experience. It isn't a cushy as MoBap, but I live in the city and it's only 15 minutes from my house, so it just made sense. The staff was very experienced and caring and I never felt like I was being rushed or ignored.

My OB/gyn is Dr. Gray-Swain and she and her partner are both great. Both women, and very busy practice, they just moved their office to a new medical center off Oakland drive, across from Forest Park.

Best of luck to you!

I also see Dr. Rempe at the Healthcare Group for Women. I LOVE her! Both of my children have been delivered at MOBap and I have had wonderful experiences with both. The entire office Dr. Rempe is in is great, I have seen all the dr. and the nurse practitioners, and I can't say enough about them all. Good Luck!

Hi! You and I flip-flopped... I just moved from St Louis to NC so I can answer this one easily :)
I can definitely recommend Dr Caroline Werner of Genesis Ob-Gyn. That woman is pure gold :) I had a tough time with my second pregnancy and, when it came time to deliver, she came in on her day off to take care of me. She's awesome!!
You can get hold of Genesis at ###-###-####. They have an amazing staff and I really do wish that Dr Werner could be with me through my pregnancy now.
I had my little one at St Johns Mercy and just loved every bit of it, the nurses, the facilities, the food - everything was great. The only part I didn't care for was that they wouldn't let me take home one of their chefs when it was time to get discharged!!
Hope this helps you. Enjoy St Louis - I lived there for 5 years and had a ball.
Good luck :)

St. John's! I had my two year old son there and it is one of the best in the area. I see Dr. Pignotti there but not sure if he is taking new patients. You can call his office at ###-###-####. He's so great and didn't mind my constant phone calls while I was pregnant! Good luck... S.
