breast feed your baby more for as breast milk is more easily digested. Pump milk to save to give your baby while you are away if you are able. Some formulas are harder to digest, and breast milk has so many benefits for your baby. you can always supplement later on if your baby needs it

Congrats on your little bundle! First of all, giving baby Mylicon for Gas is not harmful. But, I would have her checked out, just to be safe. Many babies suffer from Acid Reflux or Colic. Have your doctor be the judge. Good luck!

We used gas drops. Didn't do any harm but sometimes it didn't really help. One night at 3am when we had been up for hours and we found the answer in the book "What to expect the first year". Lay your little on her back and pump her legs like she's riding a bike. It really made a difference. I would also suggest switching formula it it keeps up. Sometimes you just have to try out a few before you find one that will work with her best. You may even try one of the specialty Enfamils. Good luck!

Yes there is over-the-counter gas relief for babies. They are just taste-less drops that you drop into their bottle and it sure helped with my little daughter. When she was born it was very hard to find the right formula for her--she did not digest well. We finally got it right & I think it was called "Little Tummies" that I think helped her even more. Good luck. I beleive you can verify tht they wont hurt at all only help their little tummy with gas from sucking in from the bottle or nipple, etc. Makes sense when you think about it..

I am writing to you as a mom and as a labor and delivery R.N.
I know that your fiance isn't keen on giving your daughter meds but I would try Mylicon gas drops. My son used them and we would give them to babies as early as 24 hours old. They are amazing and work like a charm. Available at every drug store and are very safe. You will see an instant difference. Hope this helps.

Try either Sililac Ailimentum or Enfamil Nutramegen. Our daughter had gas discomfort every day. We tried the gas drops but didn't notice much improvement. Our pediatrician suggested trying these kinds of formula because the proteins have already been broken down and it is easier to digest. I thought the Ailimentum had a very unpleasant smell but Nutramegen works great - no gas problems at all since. She says we might be able to go back to regular formula sometime when she's 3-4 months. That's good because it is a lot more expensive.

I love the Gerber Gas drops or the Mylicon (sp?). Both are very safe and you add them right to the bottle. You may also want to play around with different formulas. For example, Simalac made my baby projectile vomit and Nestle Good Start gave her a tummy ache but Enfamil worked the best. Good luck...it's all trial and error at this point!
