Feedback on Cell Phones

I just broke my cell phone which was the second phone I have broken in a little over a year. I was just wondering if anyone has tried the new RAZR phones from motorola (through verizon) or the new Verizon Chocolate phone. I want to make a good informed decision before forking out lots of money for a phone that may not be worth it. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

So What Happened?

After talking with a good friend that works for Verizon, I decided to go with the new Motorola KRZR. I checked out the RAZR, but it wasn't sturdy enough for my liking. My friend said I probably wouldn't like the Chocolate since I wouldn't be downloading tons of music and that it was difficult to get used to (style-wise). So far I've liked the KRZR. It seems very durable and has a lot of options that I really am enjoying.

Hi M.,

I got a Motorola Razr a few months ago and have enjoyed it so far. The camera in it is fairly decent, and comes in handy for "kodak moments" when I don't have my real camera. It's a pretty phone, and has alot of features. The two drawbacks to me are that I sometimes have trouble finding it in my purse b/c it's so thin and the bluetooth headset doesn't always work right.

Good luck!

M., My son has the new razor phone through Verizon. He has had it a couple of months and has no problems with it. I personally like the LG8300. It sounds like you are prone to cell phone trouble like me, I bought the insurance this time where they will replace it no matter what you do to it. Funny thing is one month after buying it I dropped it in the tub. Good Luck!

M.,
Mu husband is a cell phone junkie I guess you could say. He loves to try the new ones. He said the RAZR is ok. He really liked one called a Pebble (or however you spell it). He likes receiving his email on his phone and using the organizer, so he needs one that will be able to do more than just handle phone calls, text messages and picture messages. I have a Motorolla V555 and I like it. You can do a search online and find a site that will let you compare the phones capabilities. Not sure if this helped much, but wanted to let you know what my husband has told me about his preferences.

From what I've heard the RAZR phone is not worth the money and the Chocolate phone isn't worth it either. I found that the most basic (which aren't very basic at all....they have a few bells and whistles) work better then the fancy schmancy ones.

My friend has had both. She had the razr to begin with and it was fine for a while, but around 6 months or so she started having problems. She was told by her carrier it was because it's so skinny the chips are more compressed. Now she has the chocolate, and she loves it so far, she's had it about 4 months.

M. - my daughter has a Razr - and accidentally dropped it (from her back pocket) into the toilet... duh - anyway - I understand this is a common problem! LOL - she loves her phone and really wanted a new one - so after much scouting around found one on line as a replacement - it was set up for cingular not verizon - oops - so she has sent it back but discovered in this process that she could purchase a replacement Razr from Verizon for $50 but she had to use her own battery - small price to pay! So just in case - you happen to break yours - you will know that you CAN get a replacement - also I highly recommend getting insurance for it - this can only be purchased when you purchase the phone - not after the fact! Another thing we discovered! The things you never hear about when purchasing stuff!

Hope you have great luck with yours!

Hey M.,

My boyfriend has the razr, and he likes it ok...he seems to drop it a lot though, he is definitely problem prone where phones are concerned! We have insurance on both of ours now...I recently got the chocolate, and I love it...I waited a long time to get a replacement phone because I couldn't find one I really liked, but this one is perfect! Hope this helps! You should be able to go to Verizon and get either phone and try it out before actually buying...I think theres like two week trial period you can do or something like that. I would call a rep and talk to them about it!

I received a Razr V3 for Christmas this past year, and I love it. I've wanted one for a long time. Many people in my family and my husband's family have one too. i bought my husband the new Krzr phone unlocked on Ebay for Christmas. It's similar to the razr but slimmer and a lot better in my opinion. It costs more though. Good luck finding a new phone!

I have the RAZR V3 - and like it! The Chocolate wasn't out when we got ours... haven't seen one in use in public either - but you get my Razr vote!

I have the Razr with Verizon service and I am very pleased. I find Verizon's customer service to be best of all the carriers I've had in the past, which is really important to me!

I used to work for Verizon and I would say go with the any LG phone over a motorola. I still have some friends at verizon and they all would say the same thing. I have my whole family on LG phones and they last forever. Also talk to them about the different things you can do to save you money if you brake another. Good luck.
