Hello! I know I am running a little late, but does anyone have cute ideas on something a baby (my DS is 9 months old) can give their dad for Father's Day? Even something cheesy will do, just so it was "hand made" from my son.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We ran out of time and just got my husband some new (desperately needed) clothes, but now I have great ideas for next year. Thanks!

You could have him make the wrapping paper.
Use the inside of a brown paper grocery bag, have him color it or use his hand and foot prints.

Hi S. - I'm a teacher too! Congrats on your summer break!

A girlfriend had the neatest idea that I used for my husband's 1st Fathers' Day. I don't know if you have time, but here it is: Buy a photo album that has letter stickers, so you can name it (or one you can write on the front). I think I found mine at Target or Walgreen's, but that was 4 years ago). Write something like "Daddy and Anders" or "Daddy and Me" and put in pictures you have taken of just Anders and his daddy. Then, you can add to it as the years go by.

I also wrote, on behalf of my son, a little letter to his daddy, telling him all the things he loved about him, and I put it (glued it) to the inside of the front cover.

It brought tears to my husband's eyes, and it was one of the best gifts I feel I've given anyone. Of course, I now have a two-year old daughter and have not done anything quite as wonderful. I have the 2nd album but haven't printed pictures since last August.............

Good luck!

I son gave me some handprints on a construction paper for mothers day & I love it. Maybe that could work for Dad?

Hi, S..

Get some fabric paints and a clean, plain T-shirt. Place your baby's hands and/or feet in the paint and "stamp" them onto the shirt over the heart. Follow the paint directions for setting the paint on the fabric. (And be sure to wash the paint off of those precious little toes and fingers!)

If you're husband's not a big T-shirt guy, you can buy other fabric items at a craft store (ties, hats, tote bags, etc.).

Have fun!

Paint his hand, press it onto good quality paper, and frame the resulting handprint with a date noted on it. You won't believe how fast he'll grow and how precious it will be.

Or get an inexpensive wooden picture frame, let him smear paints around on it.

Anything to capture those fleeting babyhood moments, would be a great idea.

This isn't a fathers day gift, rather my hubby did it for mothers day, but I wish I had thought of it first! He bought a cheap picture frame with a larger white matting around the outside and let my son paint it (with finger paints), then made a collage of pictures for the picture portion. He also took pictures of the event so I could see my sons first finger painting. They had a great time making it and I love to see it!

they have those kits that you can do handprints or foot prints, I think that would be cool. I have seen them at Target, babies-r-us and places like that

Handprints on anything work great. Our daycare used that idea in many variations for holidays and I still have some of them (like the handprints done in brown paint - so they looked like dirt -on a pair of cotton gardening gloves in my size - cute!). I would do a quick Google search on father's day daycare gift ideas...
