Father Day Gifts

Dads like that kind of stuff too. Also, you could take a picture of them and put it in a craft frame. The kids could put stickers on the frame or paint it.

can you get an inexpensive ball that would hold a hand print just for awhile?

For my FIL we decided that the kids will paint a large rock together for his garden. They call him Abba, so I will write on it "Abba Rocks!" For my dad I am going to make a picture frame with the kids out of old tools and put a bible verse in it, the kids will paint the paper I write the verse on.

For my husband I hope to buy him a tree. If not I was thinking about getting this giant coffee cup from Michaels for them to decorate together. He loves coffee, so we will get a pack of his favorite and put it in the cup.

I have found cute cards online for my kids to color in the past. Also check out orientaltrading.com. They have a bunch of cute things to make for cheap.

One year, I had my daycare kids fingerpaint and then cut their paintings into a necktie shape and put it on a piece of yarn for the daddies. They loved it!

A few years ago my daughter gave her dad a stepping stone with her hand prints and some glass bead decoartions. We used the glass beads to form the word "Dad" and used some randomly in the stepping stone as decoration. We also stamped my daughters name "Ella" and the year "2008" at the bottom so her dad knew who it came from and what year. He loved it and I loved it so much that I hope to get one like it for mothers day one year. We keep it in the house near the front door where everyone can see it. Everyone who sees it thinks it is very cool. It comes in a kit at Michaels craft store (you can probably get one at Walmart, Target or any other craft store) with the mold, cement pack, glass beads and letter/number stamps. They have different shapes and sizes and kits with different decorations to choose from. It is pretty easy to make. You mix the cement with water, then pour it into the mold and then put your hands in the mold to make your hand prints, then you add the beads, rocks or other decorations. Let it dry for a few hours or overnight (whatever the directions tell you) and remove from mold and it is ready to give to dad. I think it cost about $10 or so. If your kids have the same dad you can have them each put one hand print on the stone and put each of their names under their handprints. If they don't have the same dad and you need to give multiple gifts, they had some kits that made smaller stepping stones that were a little less expensive.

This is a fundraiser that I'm suggesting to our youth department because it's cheap and very quick to do....

You can buy the little party cups at Walmart (Colored: blue) they come like 6 in a pack for 1.50 buy some candy by the bag put it in the cup wrap the tissue paper around it with some ribbon/ streamers.

A friend's daughter made a very sweet t-shirt with her handprints for father's day in child care when she was under two. Daddy loved it and it wasn't expensive to make since they used Hanes undershirts. I think the teachers painted Father's Day 2007 in addition to the child's handprints.

I had my son do fingerpainting for my husband and his godfather and included a picture of him doing the fingerpainting as part of the gift. Both still have them hanging up a year later, so that ended up being a good gift too.
