Hello Mommies! I am looking for some fun family Valentine's Day activities. My husband and I would love to have some time alone, however I cannot find anyone to watch my 4 year old daughter. This is not a huge deal, but I would like to do something fun that day. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

How about everyone joining in to cook a special meal or dessert? Your daughter can help mix, measure, etc. Maybe rent a family friendly movie to watch. Visit a local attraction like a museum or park that you haven't been to recently. Enjoy your day!

We're in the same boat! We're going to have our two kids as well. We are going to take them out to do something fun. We have a cute little place where you can paint pottery. I think that would be reallly fun for both of them (they are 6 and almost 4). Then, we're going to take them for special ice cream.
It would also be fun to get sugar cookies and then all the sprinkles and icing and stuff and sit and decorate cookies! =0)

Some pizza places make heart shaped pizzas, that would be fun! Or you could easily make your own too with refrigerator pizza crust! I second the idea for fondue...fun and delicious! Maybe you could do a picnic lunch with homemade goodies? I'm sure the weather there is much warmer and picnic friendly than here in the midwest! I'd love a Valentine's picnic! ;)

I have gathered some great ideas from this post. My only thought on all of this is to do something fun during the day that's centered around your daughter and then in the evening when she goes to bed you and your husband can have time together. I loved the idea of making a meal together. Something red and festive. Decorating cookies was also a good idea. I know my 3 year old daughter would love that as well.

Thank you for posting this. I hope whatever you decide is fun for the 3 of you. Be thankful your hubby is there to spend the day with you. Mine will be out of town on business and I will at home with our 2 girl's. Makes me so sad. Now I can take some of these ideas and share them with my girl's. Thanks.

is it terrible that our day is going to be based around food? 8)
This is the first year my 4 yo gets holidays and she is very excited. I planned a special menu for the day from breakfast (raspberry cheescake stuffed french toast) to a fondue dinner party for us - complete with candles, dress up and tablecloth. I will make her a valentines card the night before and we will make red velvet cupcakes during the afternoon and decorate them. The recipes are all from allrecipes.com. I'm still looking for some arts and crafts ideas or a family friendly "love" movie - lady and the tramp??, but i'll keep an eye on this post for some other ideas.
