How long after peeing on the stick does a pregnancy test loose its validity? I took one tonight, it was negative and I threw it away. Came back an hour later saw it in the trash and it said positive. We have been trying for a year so I don't want to get my hopes up.
Well, I took one more HPT yesterday afternoon and one first thing this morning...both showed a very faint positive so....I guess I am pregnant!! I am so excited and a little freaked out all at the same time! My husband and I are going to the Turks and Caicos islands next week and I think that will be the perfect time to tell him! :)
I had that happen too and I was prego. I then took a few more and the lines were VERY hard to see! I was prego though! I hope you are since you have been trying! Good luck!
I am not sure about the test. But to be on the safe side I would go take another test but take it with your first pee in the morning. Good Luck and hope it is positive.

That happened to my best friend and she was pregnant--but the test is supposed to be read within 5 minutes for validity. Take another! It should never show + unless you really are. SO try another one! Good LUck!! and let us know!!

Every one of my pregnancy tests (7 in all) showed only faint positives because I was very early in the pregnancies. I am very regular so always knew something was up when I missed. Congratulations. I am very happy for you. T.
I don't want to get your hopes up too much, but that is what happened with my first pregnancy. I took the test at lunchtime. It was negative so I threw it away, but checked it right before I went back to work. It was positive.
What kind of test are you using? Is it one that you can take before your period is due? If not, you may want to go get one of the ones you can take earlier, they are more sensitive to the hormone they are testing for.

Well it happened to me too. I threw it away and looked at it the next morning and it was positive. I was pregnant.
Hope the best for you. Try testing again with really holding your pee pee for a long time, like all night and then testing in the morning.

Get the early response test, that is one of the best ones to get because it allows you to test earlier about 5 days before your period is even due. According to the other moms on the site there is a chance you could be pregnant! I always read where you should disregard after 10 minutes or so, but take the other test and good luck!
I dont want to get you excited either, but with my second pregnancy I took a test, saw it was negative and went back to bed. When I woke up I checked it again and it was positive, so I took another test and it was positive. I really hope that you are preggo..
Congrats!!! A faint positive is still a positive! It's probably just very early on in the pregnancy. Have fun telling your husband on your vacation! Although he might notice you beaming from ear to ear before then... :)
I think most tests say to discard it after ten minutes. However, I low many gals including myself who has pulled a pregnancy test out of the trash. The positive could be an evap line but I pulled a test out of the trash and saw a faint line and I'm due at the end of May. If I were you I would grab a couple more from the store and pee away. You can also check out www.peeonastick.com I think they talk about how long a test is good for.
Personally, I always say it's not over till you pull the test out of the trash. Good luck!
from what i have heard, false negatives are common, false positives, are positively rare! congratulations, but get it confirmed quickly so you can start pre-natal care.
