Hi Moms, its me with another question.

I hope someone can help me, I'm looking for an Eyes, Ear, Nose, & Throat doctor in Dallas, I am willing to drive to find one. My almost 3 year old is not articulating her words clearly, she will try to repeat what you say but it comes out a different way. This is causing me so much stress because I don't know what else there is for me to do. I want to get her checked out to ensure me everything is ok. She already go to speech therapy and they told me to get her ears checked. I have already did that at her private doctor. I just need help; it really upsets me when my sister tells me my daughter is slow because she’s not talking like the other two and three year olds in the family. This is so upsetting i decided no to go home for the holidays because I don't want any saying anything negative about my daughter or the way I'm parenting her. Someone Please help me, I don't know what else there is to do.

What can I do next?

I highly recommend Dr. Timothy Trone at Medical City. He is a pediatric specialist ENT. My daughter had mysterious high fevers for months earlier this year; the pediatrician was no help. Dr. Trone found the problem and solved it. He's our hero. Good luck. Don't let others make you feel bad about your daughter. She is an individual. But maybe she was trying to help by alerting you that if there is an ear problem, it could be fixed.

Hi Lakeisha,

When my son was 8 months old, our pediatrician suggested getting tubes put in his ears (after 8 infections in 4 months). We were told there are only a handful of pediatric ENTs in the Dallas area (because of how specialized the field is). They gave us Dr. Biavati's name (just as a pediatric ENT name, not as a reference) and Dr. Gottlieb's name (as an ENT reference). We interviewed both and decided to go with Dr. Gottlieb because Dr. Biavati not only wanted to put tubes in our son's ears, but to also take out his adnoids. Thank goodness we went with Dr. Gottlieb--we found out that there is no way to do a good job on an 8 month old's adnoids as there are not any instruments small enough! Now, our son is 28 months and going strong, still with his adnoids! I highly recommend Dr. Gottlieb--he's knowledgeable, gentle and kind and does a great job at listening and following up. His phone number is ###-###-####. He is in the new Richardson Regional building off George Bush and Renner road.

Good luck in your search!

I know exactly what you are talking about, my now 7 year old son went thru the same thing you are talking about, but thank God he is doing so much better, I go to Dr. Brown in Mesquite, he has a great team, and he really cares about the kids, be patient I have 5 kids and each one of the is so different than the other, it may take a little longer but she will deffenetely get there.

I have used Dr. Wayne Kirkham in Dallas (Medical City on Forest Ln. - ###-###-####) for my children. They both required tubes in their ears, but nothing more. We have had absolutely no additional problems. My sister also thought my son had a speech problem at age 3, but after having him tested, we were told that he was developmentally on track. Sometimes it just takes children a little longer to properly articulate. Good luck!!

I agree with previous poster. Dr. Wayne Kirkham is excellent! I have used him personally and had wonderful results. I saw two other doctors before him: one wanted to take my tonsils out which wasn't necessary; the other wanted to give me allergy shots which may have helped my allergies, but wouldn't have resolved the problem. Dr. Kirkham was quick to find the problem and suggested treatment which worked. I have not had an issue with it since.

He also helped a friend of mine years ago who lost her voice due to nodules on her vocal chords. He coordinated a treatment plan for her that helped her regain her voice including speech therapy.

Dr. Tsu and Dr. Wong are both excellent doctors. Dr. Wong took out my tonsils 3 years ago and he was so very nice. Any time I was having problems he was their to answer my questions. Dr. Tsu had to put a prosthetic in my friends ear(long story) and he was so very nice and he also took my nieces tonsils out. They are in a practice together at Charlton Methodist in the Building 1 from what I remember. I would HIGHLY recommend them. They are very good with kids.
