Extra Small Swim Diapers

I have been invited to take my 10 week old daughter swimming next week and am really excited about getting her near the water. I've checked with the doc and he said it was fine to have her sit at the end of the water and get her feet wet. So I've been searching high and low for some swimming underpants her size. The smallest I have found are the Little Swimmers for 16+ pounds. She's only 11 pounds. What solutions are out there? Do I keep her in a regular diaper? Is there some place special I should be shopping? I've looked at Wal-Mart and Babies R Us online.

Thanks in advance!

So What Happened?

Well swimming went well. We ended up buying the small Little Swimmers from Wal-Mart and they worked great. We went swimming at the Jeff Parsely Center and that's an awesome pool. Baby got to first sit in an inch of water and we slowly made our way out to deeper water from there. There were a few tears as she got used to the water, but by the end she was content to look around the place and smile at mommy and daddy. Woo Hoo!

You will regret it if you take her swimming in a regular diaper! It will weigh more than her and you will have trouble holding her without it hurting her hips.
The 16+ pound swim diaper you found should work just fine. You can also find washable swim diapers that are smaller and fit way better. They are usually sold with the swimsuits.

My son was about that size the first time I took him swimming. We just used the Little Swimmers for 16+ pounds and they worked fine. Sure, they looked a little big on him, but they have elastic around the waist, so they're pretty forgiving on size.

I also used the huggies little swimmers and they worked great. I bought some little swimming trunks that fit them a little better then the swimmers and just put them over the swimmers for a little added security. I bought the swimming trunks at target. I think the trunks are actually kind of made for no diapers but I would rather have the added security of the diaper underneath. I usually found them on the ends of the isles at target along with the little sun hats. Have fun!

We had washable swim diapers for my boys. Long time ago but they worked great. I think I got them at Target or K-mart.
