?Extra Molar?

I agree take him to a pediatric dentist. My kids have been going since they were 2 I haven't looked to see where you are but if you're near Augusta we have a great one Dr Lee Baker. He's a wait and see dentist , won't do anything that isn't necessary. My son fell and knocked his front tooth almost out I pushed it back up in there, went to one dentist , he was taking about root canals etc, took him to Dr Baker and he said well lets wait and see, if it stays in for the next week he will mostlikely keep it. Luckly he kept the tooth

I agree go to the dentist. HOWEVER FWIW I personally had a full extra set of '6 year' molars and only 3 '12 year' and my 3rd and finally wisdom tooth that I was born having erupted when I was 23. So it is possible to have extras and not enough of others :)

hi V... i am a dentist and i would rec u should take your son to the dentist. though most dentists see kids-- i would rec a pediatric dentist or whomever your kids see.

I would take my child to the dentist and have an xray. Something is going on and I think and xray would help it would show and extra molar and you could then see an orthodontist to see how this should be handled. We have an ortho now and she helps us alot looks like a few of my kids will need braces and I value her opinion I had a few Adult teeth pulled from over 20 yrs ago and orth practice has changed since then. It never hurts to get an opinion, learn from it and make decisions from there. Best of luck

There is a set of permanent molars called the "Six Year" molars that typically come in at age six behind the two molars (each side). My son got his at five and my first reaction was shock. I called the pediatric dentist. They confirmed it. They age seems exceedingly young, but there are supposed to be teeth back there eventually.

I had a cousin who had 7 wisdom teeth, so I am sure it is possible. He didn't have problems till he was a teenager and then they removed them all.

I would say take him to a dentist for a check-up.
