Extended Stay Hotels

I am in the middle of buying a home. My lease on the house I am in is over in January and my house will not be complete (we are having it built) until March or April. I am looking for an extended stay hotel for me and my 2 kids, plus my 18 year old nephew, while we wait for the house to be built. Does anyone know a good extended stay hotel around Aurora that is inexpensive? I need something that has 2 rooms in it since I have my nephew as well. I can't see spending $4500 a month for a hotel. I am trying to save money while waiting for the house to be built. Thanks.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I haven't updated my profile in a while. My husband will be deployed while the house is being built and it will just be my 2 kids and my nephew in the hotel or apartment.

Thanks for the advice I will be looking into short term lease apartments. I posted a want add in Craigslist as well.

It sounds like you have at least 6 months, could you get a six month lease on an apartment? Those extend a stay places are really expensive and it sounds like you have a full house so maybe a three bedroom would work! Or could you get a month to month on your current place, that would be really good because all your stuff is there and you wouldn't have to pay for storage and avoid a double move. I would think if you have been good tenants they would work with you! Good luck and congrats on the new house, how exciting.

We moved from Iowa last summer and stayed in the InnTown Suites for 4 weeks while we waited to close on our house. It was really only a place to sleep since I spent my days at my brothers house with his wife and kids. It's not great, but was cheap. I can't imagine staying much longer. I know that a new Value Place was built recently, not sure if they're much different. I had a friend from work who stayed in the DTC at an extended stay that has suites with multiple bedrooms, I think it was Marriott. Good luck!

I am so confused. You list 1 step daughter, 2 of your own kids, 2 nephews and a nephew's friend. Is your husband there with you too? You're going to get a 2 bedroom hotel, I guess put you and DH in one room and 6 kids in another room?

I suggest checking Craigs List for someone who is trying to rent a room or 2 in their house, or that has a garage apartment or basement they'd rent to you.

You might also be able to find a sublet. I'm buying a house in Oct, but my lease expires on my apt 2 1/2 weeks after that. If it'd been longer than 2 1/2 weeks, I would have sublet the apt.

Good luck! Sounds like a tight can of tuna!

I would suggest trying to talk to your current landlord, and see if they will let you do a month-to-month lease until your house is done--that way, you don't have to move, and you can stay where you are until the house is ready.

Good luck.

All hotels, even the least expensive ones cost a lot of money at the end.

My husband had to find temporary living for 2 months last winter and the best deal for us was a short term lease in an apartment complex. He got a 3 months lease with a fridge, oven, microwave. Laundry room on site. He got an aerobed and borrowed folding chairs and table.

Good luck!
