Exprience with IVF Guarantee Plan?

I've read up on many questions and responses regarding IVF. I'm still undecided about which direction to go with our infertility. I am curious if anyone has had experience with the newer "guaranteed IVF" or your money back.

My husband and I just celebrated our 5th anniversary. I turned 37 this year. I have a desire to have a baby but with every unsuccessful year of trying my hope and interest diminishes. Our (his really) kids are getting more and more indepedent and I get a little more comfortable with my "extra" time. So I'm sitting on the fence with IVF. IUI was unsuccessful x3.

Hi C.!
I can't answer the guarantee question. However, I've been through countless unsuccessful IUIs, 3 IVFS and 3 rounds of frozen transfers from which I have 2 beautiful children. My advice if you do decide to go forward is to start a low carb diet immediately (the Protein Power book was recommended by my docs). I won't go into why it seems to help buy I am absolutely convinced it was what allowed the successful IVF cycles. I know several other women who have had the same experience (thin or not at the onset). The diet stinks but it is short term and well worth it. The second thing is that if you go through it, it is all about attitude. Know that it will work for you because it is your turn and it will!
Best of luck to you!
C.

In the end it's your decision, but I would encourage you to have a child of your own. Especially if your stepchildren's mother is an active part of their lives, they will never quite be "yours." I had a baby at 43 and am enjoying her - she keeps me young! I have another route to suggest to you, though. Many couples have embryos left over after they've done IVF. Some of those embryos are available for adoption. You'd have the embryos implanted in your womb, and go through the pregnancy. You and your husband will be listed as the parents on the birth certificate. It costs about a third of IVF. For more information, call 1-866-585-8549. I can't quite remember the name of their website, but google embryo adoption.

I did IVF but amazingly my husbands insurance plan covered the treatment. I don't know if my doctor does a guaranteed plan or not but I used Dr. Arredondo with RMA of Texas which is located on Stone Oak. We had one failed attempt and I got pregnant on the second attempt. It was really hard to go thru and I'm not sure I could do it again but I have a 7 week old baby boy so I'm obviously thrilled. Good luck with whatever you decide!

There are a lot of shared risk plans that you can join but they have to accept you. It is also usually a take home baby rate. So, if you pay 20K for the shared risk and get luck the first time, then there is no refund. Here in Austin we were successful on the first time and it was 9K.

Good luck in what you decide!

I did IVF at the Fertility center of Illinois 1-866-606-2830. I was successful both times and I now have three babies. The doctors and nurses are great and I felt that they know what they are doing. by the way, what age are kids when you get "extra" time :-)
