Experience with Naperville Park District?

Hello,
My family recently moved to IL and we are considering buying a house in Naperville. My preschool-aged children enjoy being active and I'd like to know if anyone has had experience (good/bad) with the Naperville Park District programs. My children currently participate in programs with the Westmont and Darien Park Districts and I am very pleased with the ease of signing them up for sports as well as how the programs are run.

What can I do next?

We took my 9 month old son to mini gym at the Naperville Park District and he really enjoyed it. I also signed him up for a Toddlers in Action class, which was made up of several different stations for the toddlers to play at, for example "crafts," "train table," "tents" and the class incorporated song time as well. It was pretty decent. I find it hard to find a ton of weekend programs there but if you can make it during the week, they seem to offer a lot. Check out the libraries too for free storytime dates and times. Good luck!

There are a ton of programs offered through the NPD...I even took my son to a baby yoga class when he was just 3 months old! The libraries (95th Street, Nichols and Naper Blvd) offer many programs too and many of these are FREE! I grew up in Naperville and went through their soccer program (as did my 3 sisters too!). You will love Naperville - lots to do here!

I don't live in the Naperville Dist, but we moved here from out of state a few years ago and have taken many programs through the Fox Valley PD and Oswegoland PD, and have been very impressed with the many offerings, ease to register, classes themselves, etc. I imagine Naperville is along the same lines. Where we lived before, there was not anything that offered such a variety of programs, so we have really enjoyed all there has been to offer.

We've been doing Park District classes since my 6 year old was 15 months. They have a good variety and we've had good experiences with all but one class. That being said when we did let the park district know that the teacher was not good they followed up with us and handled it in a satisfactory manner. It's very easy to sign up for classes-it's all online. Once you move here you just have to sign up for what's called re-enroll and get a user number/password. Some things do fill up quickly. For instance for Naperville Youth Soccer(K and up) you really do have to get online right at the start time to ensure you get the team/time that you want. Feel free to send me a message if you have any other Naperville ?. We've lived here for 8 years.

Naperville is a great town to live in. Voted Kid Town USA several times. Park District programs, DuPage Children's Museum and a special city Saftey Town, lots of sports for kids of all ages, not to mentions great public schools.
The local hospital (Edward) has pediatric ER and all pediatric specialties. If you need a doc I would suggest Naperville Pediatrics - Dr. R..
