Ever Use a Stroller Connector?

We are going to Disney in April and we will have a 3yr old and a 7 month old....do we take one stroller? Or two umbrellas (we have 2 matching jeep strollers) and buy the stoller connector? We have a nice double jogger, but I do not want to check it because I do not want it broken. Did anyone ever use the connector? Did you like it? Do you want to give/sell it?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I will take some of your advice here and probably only bring one stroller and I also have a ergo baby carrier that I will bring incase the 3 yr old wants to ride for a little bit. We will be in town for a wedding so we will need to have atleast one stroller with us. THANKS

Haven't read any of the responses - but rent the ones they have at disney and avoid checking the strollers in at all.

I can't comment on the connector question, but as for renting strollers at WDW, not sure I'd do that. Unless there are other strollers there that I didn't see, most folks with Disney strollers looked as if they were having a tough time with them. Maybe okay for your three year old, but not the 7 month old. They are hard, molded plastic. Little ones would have no support in these, and they look uncomfortable for any age. Most folks were padding the heck out of them w/blankets, etc., trying to prop tired kids and keep them comfortable. I've also heard they are heavy and not easy to maneuver.

Something else to know, which I didn't until I got there, is that strollers are not allowed in lines for the rides. You have to park strollers and walk/carry children. I agree, your three year old will probably want to walk quite a bit and will do well, but you will probably want to have a Bjorn or similar carrier for your little one if you are intending to stand in line with her.

C. - I think you might be surprised at how much your 3 year old will want to walk. When we went with twin 3 year olds and a 5 year old, no one wanted to be in the stroller.
It's exciting for them to walk plus it's kind of a hassle to park the stroller, etc.
Maybe you could just bring one???

I have used stroller connecctors, or at least I have tried. I bought them online thinking that even though the picture showed umbrella strollers being used, I could use them on my Graco strollers. Needless to say, they didn't work. They were pretty inexpensive, so I wasn't too upset about the money I had lost investing in them. I still have them if you would like mine. Send me a message if you are interested.
I also have a used graco double stoller (duo glider) that I would like to sell (cheap). Let me know if you are interested in that as well.

We have 15 mo twins and have travelled a few times with them, including a trip to Disney. We have a double stroller (Baby Jogger City Series) and so far nothing has happened to it. If your jogger folds easily I would take it, because your baby is used to it and it probably reclines, which is important since she will be napping in it. If you take the umbrella strollers, I personally don't see a need for the connector, which makes steering really hard and you're going to be walking a lot.

I bought a connector and haven't used mine yet. Maybe take one and rent another?

I hve used stroller conectors. I thought they made the stroller hard to steer, especially if one child weighs a lot more than the second child. I would think you would be better of getting a used strollers from Craigslist. You will be pushing the stroller a lot at Disney and want to get one that will be easy to push!

Do they rent strollers at Disney? Seems I heard/saw/read something somewhere about that... If you aren't intending to go anywhere else besides Disney, that might be a more affordable and convenient option. I've never used connectors... they never seemed sturdy enough (at least for us - we are a bit rough on stuff).

I would take the double. Are you flying and worried about it getting broken?? If that's the case, you can take it all the way to the plane and they can put it under the plane and have it ready right when you walk off the plane too. You don't have to check it in like reg. luggage. I don't know how I would have survived at the airport without being able to take it all the way to the plane.

We visited Disney this past October. We have twin girls (2.5 yrs) and used the jeep strollers with a connector. We found the connector for about $10 at Toysrus. It worked out great! If we needed to get into tight spaces we each took a child. But, it was nice to be able to push them both and take turns to give the other adult some freedom. Some caution ... we had to use some white cloth tape under the connectors to make a better grip because it didn't close in tight enough around the stroller bar. We tested it out at the mall before we left. It was nice at the airport to have the umbrellas because they were so lightweight. We bought the gate check covers at Target.com When we arrived, we just opened them up, buckled in the child and let each carry on hang off the back.

On the Disney buses, we would either take one child with a stroller or one of us would take both children while the other took both strollers. One father had a very difficult time with his double stroller because it was so awkward and the bus was so full. Also, remember to have the strollers collapsed when getting on or the driver will not let you aboard until it is. A little embarrassing if you have a lot of people waiting behind you.

Hope that helps. We are HUGE Disney fans and were finally able to share it with our girls. I'm sure we'll go again in a few years. Some people think we're crazy for spending the money but you don't get it until you go. If you have any more questions about your trip, please feel free to contact me!

I have never used a stroller connector, but I have a 3 year old and a 4 month old and we went to Disney in December. We brought our stroller for our 4 month old and rented the double stroller at disney for our 3 year old. There strollers are really nice and convenient. Our $80 for the week. Well worth it and less luggage for you to bring.

Hi... I never used a stroller connector... But we did go to Disney recently. Because we were flying there we didnt want to check a stoller... so we rented one at each park we went to. It was cheap and easy and saved us the hassle of checking even more stuff. A.

We took a double Jeep Stroller to Disney World, and it was very difficult to get through doors. I would suggest a tandum stroller. We have a Joovy which is available at Babies R Us. It isn't much larger than a regular stroller and it is easy to use in the airport, but it is pricey. The baby goes in the front and the older child can either sit or stand in the back. We bought this to go on a trip with our children. It was a life saver!!!!! I think that Evenflo makes their own version also.
