Ever Have a Miscarriage but Didn't Know You Were Pregnant?

I'm still bleeding after close to 14 days of what I thought was a period...lots of cramps, back pain, etc. Lots of tests and all seems fine. Doctor is still trying to determine the cause but now I'm wondering could I have had a miscarriage a couple months ago and not known that I was even pregnant? I read that this can cause infection if anything remains inside. Thanks for your feedback.

What can I do next?

It's possible to have a chemical pregnancy (early miscarriage) and not even know it. I hope the dr. can help and you feel better.

Yes...I believe I did. I got my period late (we were trying) but I've always been a little oblivious to my cycles-lol

It was heavy, I had breast tenderness, etc.
It was only after I had two more m/c's that I realized that was what had happened....

Yes. We had been trying to get pregnant but the tests were negative. Then I went overseas for over two weeks (w/ no pregnancy tests). When I got back, the next night I had severe cramping and the next day bleeding so I had a feeling it was a miscarriage..even though I never had a positive preg test. The doc ordered a blood test to test for HCG levels, and they found elevated levels of it , which means I had been pregnant. Then she had me go for another blood test each week for a few weeks to make sure the HCG was going down (which it did). Did your doc do a blood test or u/s to make sure everything is ok? Good luck to you.

Yes, I had a miscarriage and did not no if I was pregnant, b/c I was out camping and could not get a pregnancy test.

I also had a miscarriage and had fetal material get stuck in the os (cervical opening) which caused significant bleeding, cramping, etc. The MD had to dislodge the material in order for the miscarriage to complete itself. Had I waited any longer, sepsis could have set in.

Has your doc given you a visual exam to see if your os is clear?
