Does anyone have an opinion about Emler swimming lessons? Is it worth the price? My son loves being the pool and I would like to get him in some kind of lesson.

What can I do next?

I thought they did a good job. Both of my kids did well there, except I did have to pull my son out - he has severe excema and had a reaction to their pool water. It's salt chlorinaded,(different than most pools). it's supposed to be better, but it wasn't for him.

It really is well worth the money. My daughter took there, and I was very pleased with the results. Their Arlington location is right behind our school and many of the students take swimming for PE or after school. I have never heard anyone who wasn't pleased with them.

I have been taking my 29 month old to Emler since he was an infant. He loves it! You have to stick with it or they will lose what they have learned.

I have a four year old just completeing her first year of swim lessons at Emler. They teach more than swimming and I don't think you can find a better place for them to learn water safety. She can swim 10 seconds underwater to her teacher. I was somehow under the impression that once she could swim, I would be totally confident about her abilities, but it is an ongoing thing when they are young and they can quickly forget what they have been taught if you drop out for the summer like we did. Bottom line, I would do it all over again especially knowing the statistics on children's mishaps with water.

My daughter took lessons there and we were not very impressed. We did some additional research and were able to find lessons available at the YMCA plus several local instructors that will work one-on-one with the kids.

I'm sure others can give you some additional information and resources.

In my opinion they are far too expensive. We took our daughter for the free lesson to check it out but ended up enrolling her in the YMCA and it was $60/class as opposed to $300 and she loved it. If you can't wait until summer there is a YMCA almost in Mansfield that has an indoor pool
